Not bad for the price, but they charge you a $200 cleaning fee that is not included in the lease, they also advertised guest parking, but said they oversold on resident parking passes so there were no guest passes. Now they have guest parking, which they charge $4/hour for. They started off great but progressively worsened over the year.

I am revising my review based on the last few months' experience. Most of the issues with the place were solved after Yugo (the new owners) re-hired the old manager. She is very competent and personable, and has worked with me ostensively to make things better. The maintenance staff, Alex, is one of the best maintenance people I've had at any rental. The only thing that I reserve the one star is because the leasing procedure does not allow you to select the unit you actually want to rent, and some units in the bottom floor have humidity issues during the summer months, as well as a restricted window view to the parking lot. I was unlucky to be assigned one of those units, so the solution has been to constantly run a dehumidifier (provided by the property) during the warm months and not being able to have my windows open most of the time, as anyone outside has a clear view into my studio. Another issue I've found was that the website advertised (still does) a tanning bed. I was told after moving-in that it was broken and that their intent was to remove it. It has been broken for the full year I was here and has not been removed. The location is great, literally on main campus, downtown, and across from the rec center. If they keep the current manager and maintenance, it is a good place. Renters should beware of some practices by the new owners, though. Yugo seems keen on having tenants enter a contract to to transfer liability for normal wear and tear to the tenants (cleaning fees and professional carpet cleaning). This is illegal in NC, unless previously agreed to in the lease. They're an international group that has recently entered the US market. It's only fair that they will trip on some local/state laws until they figure it out. That's a landlord issue, though. Local management does the best they can with what they're provided.

Stayed here for 3 years, once the staff all changed everything went down hill. Only reason it's getting 2 stars is for the original staff that went above and beyond!
