Heading out from a weekend in Pine Knolls and decided to stop at The Trader Post Southern Food and Spirits to eat. One word, DELICIOUS!!! 10/10 highly recommend. Not to mention the work ethic they have is amazing, we sat at the bar so we noticed a lot. The waitresses helped each other out the entire time, the manager was nice and helpful to the employees, the hostess acknowledged us before we could even step through the door, just pure satisfaction all around! Thank you all again!

Clean, gender neutral restrooms. Service was ok. Food is so-so, but they seem to be busy. We were looking for a tasty but not fried meal. Macaroni and cheese too salty, couldn't eat it. Fries, ugh, the kind that are coated with a light breading. Not my favorite. Didn't eat those either. Type you get at Burger King. "Clam chowder" actually a seafood bisque with corn, beans, etc. Sisters said was yummy. Fried green tomatoes appy was delicious. Pot roast was good (meat and two). Fried green tomato BLT is a good option. Now offering outdoor seating behind the building. This place has changed hands over the years. One of a few open on Sunday in off season.

Cute restaurant with fun decor. Staff is responsive and helpful with orders. Food was good. We had the Chicken in a Bowl which was homemade chicken tenders served on a biscuit with sausage gravy and egg of your choice.

We had a party of 8, and while they wouldn't take a reservation,we had no problem getting seated. We waited a short time while a couple finished and they moved two tables together. I had shrimp and grits and it was unique with an egg and …It's great to hear that overall you and your party of 8 enjoyed your meal here, Dennis! Thanks for taking a moment to share some honest and detailed feedback about your visit. We'd love to welcome you back to try something else from our menu anytime! -Brynn S.

Yes!!! We love it for that reason. They have corn hole and hula hoops out back in a nice grass area where kids can run around! ;-)
Yes. We love dogs! Large fenced in back yard. Ask staff members for a bowl of water.
Best Shrimp and grits I've ever had and I watched them fix a Bloody Mary like no other.
Until 2pm on sat & sun. Rest of the week 11am.
That is the best way to do it because you will not have to wait in line!
Not inside but i have seen people bring them in the back thru the sliding doors that open to the backyard or patio area . Nothing wrong with that.
We were told this morning that they do not serve food outside, only drinks. We came here specifically for the dog friendly outdoor seating they advertise and were disappointed to learn they don't serve food outside.
