Love Hodia... Been going since I was a kid now as staff member. It's great seeing the kids make new friends with other kids with type 1 diabetes while doing fun activities...

This is a premier type 1 youth diabetes program that holds week-long camps for a variety of ages throughout the summer and the year. Their specialty is equipping and encouraging young people who have type 1 diabetes to be and do everything they have in their hearts to achieve. Amazing staff and leaders!

I absolutely love this camp! I was at there teen camp. The committee aspect is huge. It's almost like a big family. Everyone there respects and cares for each other. It's a really good experience for people with type 1 Diabetes. You learn so much about Diabetes management, and meet so many other people that are going through the same struggles as you.

Incredible organization focused completely on our Type 1 diabetic kids community. They make every event special for the kids and their families, even during difficult times like this past year. We love them!

Questions & Answers

Hi. My daughter has wanted to go to one of these camps since being diagnosed 5 years ago. She is just getting ready to graduate though and will be turning 18. Can you please let me know if she could still go to one of your camps? please advise

Hi Warren! Absolutely, we would love to have her participate in a Hodia camp. If you can give us a call we can help you get her signed up!

Is there an age limit to volunteer for teen camp? I go to teen camp, and my twin sister wants to go, too. She doesn't have Diabetes, though, so we were wondering if she could still go, or else volunteer.

Hi Amber! Thank you for reaching out to us! It is so neat to hear that your sister likes Hodia too and wants to get involved, please tell her thank you! We are an American Camp Association accredited camp, and one of those standards is that camp volunteers are at least 2 years older than the campers they are supervising. So your twin is probably too close to your age to be able to volunteer at your same session. Perhaps she would be willing to volunteer for one of our other camp sessions where the children are younger, or be a volunteer at our community programs! If so, please have her contact the camp office and we can share some upcoming volunteer opportunities with her (and you too if you'd like to join her in volunteering perhaps, we'd love to scoop both of you in)!
