I've lived hear since the first of January 2020, and especially during COVID, this has been a great apartment to live at. Almost every complaint I hear from people about renting has been non-existent, which makes it worth the very reasonable price of rent. Pros: - The area feels very safe and quiet. There is a mailroom where packages are left, but in the few cases where a package is delivered at your door, the locked gates around the complex give you peace of mind that your belongings are safe. - The walls are very well insulated. I am someone who loves my music and my home theater system, and I wanted to know I could enjoy it without disturbing my neighbors. There have only been a few instances where I've been able to hear anything coming from neighboring units, and even then, it has been "noticeable" at worst. The complex is dog friendly, and you may hear some barking from time to time, but honestly it has never been an issue for me. - The courtyard is beautiful (along with the entire aesthetic), and is a very peaceful place to spend a sunny afternoon reading, or catching up with a friend. There may not be many other amenities (gym/pool/outdoor grill) but the courtyard is a very nice touch. - The open air design is great. Most complexes have units sharing walls and a common hallway, which feels very enclosed. Here, there is nothing but open space when you walk out of your front door. - Units come with everything you need! There's a fridge, central heating/air, washing and drying machine, dishwasher, oven, stove, and a microwave, which is much more than you'll find around the Bay Area. - Staff, from the leasing office to the maintenance team, are very friendly and professional. Cons: - PARKING! Not for me, but for GUESTS! There is not a single lot with free parking anywhere in the area. At most, there is 2 hour free parking along the streets for Drake's The Barn. As a resident you get two visitor day-passes per month for the lot across the street that cost $5 each. If you want friends or family to visit and stay the night, you have to buy them a pass for the first day (up until midnight) and another pass for the next morning. Otherwise the metered parking can be up to $40 or $50 by the time they head home the next day. With how much open land there is, and how much parking space is available at Sutter Health Park, or in the 5th and Bridge Street lot, I'm really surprised residents don't get free visitor passes. - Yes, the appliances are so very loud. The central heating and air sounds like a jet engine, and stays that way for the entirety of its runtime. The washing machine has it's own fun sounds, as well as the dryer, and dishwasher, and somehow the fridge with no ice make which likes to make loud banging sounds occasionally. After a while, you do get used to it, and it is nice to have those appliances, even if they are loud. It's just important to note that you cannot realistically do work (*cough* *cough* like working from home during the pandemic) with more than one appliance running at a time, and you definitely can't hear your TV either. - This is more of an issue with the city, but PG&E sucks, and it's annoying we don't get SMUD considering Sacramento is right. next. door. In the winter when I'm running my space heater or central heating for maybe 3-4 hours total during the day to keep my apartment at about 68-72 degrees, it costs me about $300-375/month. I'm a single person, and the only other electronics I have running are a desktop computer and efficient LED bulbs. When summer comes around, having the AC on 24/7 costs about $120/month. Overall, the complex is great. It's peaceful, and the cons are nowhere near bad enough to not want to live here. I wish more places were like 980 Central. I think there could be improvements in the way of adding amenities like a grassy area/park by the river where the dirt and gravel are, but for now, it's a nice area and I'd recommend it.

Had the best experience renting here at 980 Central! Pros: Conveniently located near Downtown/Midtown/Old Town Sac Bike Trails, Running Trails, River Walk (great for an active lifestyle) Amazing natural light in the unit! Pet friendly! Large dogs are welcome. Fast maintenance request response, Mike does a great job. Morgan was a great leasing agent, she was really personable and very helpful. Quiet neighborhood, hardly any foot traffic except residents. Cons: Neighbors missing the dumpster when discarding trash or overfilling. Neighbors walking their dogs un-leashed and not picking up poop. (But the maintenance guy and grounds keeper does a GREAT job cleaning after inconsiderate people) LOL at the loud heater, I mean, eventually it just becomes background noise. Highly recommend this apartment!

Great interactions with Morgan who was patient with me as I decided to move into this space. Good location and very easy to get to the highway. Well wishes and thank you!

Architecture is amazing, when they finish the rest of the grounds around the waterfront it will be truly epic
