I used to offer some similar services with my video production business and was always thoroughly impressed by Ezraβs ability to stay ahead of the game and deliver high quality products every time. I highly recommend The Digital Convert for all your digitizing needs ππ»

I can't say enough good things about the work Ezra and team do for customers. I've worked with The Digital Convert for years digitizing everything from photo albums, negatives and slides to films and VHS videos... some decades old! From conversion to restoration, there's no one better - and no better customer service - than The Digital Convert.

Sure. Currently 3.5" floppy only, not 5.25". As long as there's no proprietary formatting, it should copy over.
We're happy to take a look but here's some DIY tips. Troubleshooting step one: Check cables and confirm your VCRs audio works with a known working tape. Also inspect the tape for any physical damage like shedding oxide or dirt and mold. If all is good continue. (Otherwise, don't attempt playback. A tape cleaning machine like or TapeChek or tape baking service for shedding tapes may help.) Step two: Adjust VCR tracking with your remote. Poor tracking can affect the audio. Step three: Run a cleaning tape through or manually clean the heads and tape path and try again. There are many videos on YouTube showing this process. Step four: If none of the above help, it's going to be a matter of trying more professional video decks, cleaning or baking. Generally, a stubborn tape that won't cooperate in one deck will work just fine in another... especially a more robust broadcast or prosumer unit.
Absolutely! If you just have a single image, this would fall under our minimum $10 order charge.
Thank you so much for asking here! I believe we discussed on the phone, but this is an important question for everyone using a standalone DVD burner or mini DVD camera. In order to make your discs compatible with devices other than the one recorded on, you must always finalize the disc first. You will typically find "finalize" in the setup menu on your remote or on a camera but refer to your device's manual. The finalization process will make the disc readable in your computer and our computers. It is always best to attempt finalization in the original recording device as typically it will only work in a camera of the same brand and possibly model. At The Digital Convert, we can convert your DVDs to MP4/M4V files on a USB drive, however unfinalized discs will have an added cost. Conversion from a finalized disc is currently $6.50. If unfinalized, we take data recovery steps which would add to the cost, first attempting to finalize in our equipment, followed by software data recovery.
We convert audio cassettes and will EQ the audio to bring out voices as best as possible on an overall basis. Fixing or improving sections of garbled audio may involve an additional cost to fix in post if it's isolated to a small section of the tape. Please be sure to describe the issue to our technicians upon order intake if it's isolated to a small section of the tape.
Sure - the current cost is 0.49 per slide at 1500DPI resolution and 0.69/ea for 2400DPI. For viewing on screen or standard reprints, 1500DPI is sufficient. 2400DPI can be beneficial for future enlargements. So the cost will range from $73.50 - $103.50 depending upon your chosen resolution. The files are provided on DVD at no charge or USB for $12. Feel free to call with any further questions 773-295-1760 x300.
I had an awesome experience with Digital Convert! Keep it up guys! β
We're a local Chicago company in business since 2008 offering personal service and in-person dropoffs. We accept shipped orders as well. So no - you're not going to be bounced from rep to rep on the phone. Definitely more mom and pop, but with well organized and structured services and knowledgeable employees from local film/video and photography programs.
