It took me 15 mins total to get my social security card replaced! I went at 1:30pm on Thursday and there was no line at all (although there were few people waiting when I was walking out; I was lucky) I did not book an appt since I filled out an application online but they wanted me to fill it out on paper cuz they didn’t have online access. Mr. Morales assisted the process; he answered my questions professionally and even went further to provide advices in the future reference. The whole procedure and the experience was beyond expectations compared with other Social Security Administration. I’m glad I came here!

You have to be a New York resident to apply for Medicare and Medicaid.
That's a possibility, but most of the time you have to apply for a replacement card via mail, or you can try email. That's the only options i know of.
