I called Ronna, she found me a cheaper rate. I paid my annual premium. Couldn't have been easier or more convenient.

A good strategy is to compare how much you'll save by increasing your deductibles versus how much extra you'll pay for a claim with higher deductibles. Some statistics predict average drivers will have a claim every seven years. If that feels right to you, determine how much you can save over seven years versus how much extra you'll pay in deductible. If you can financially manage the deductible and the premium savings outweighs the added deductible expense, a higher deductible is sound choice. This strategy works well if you can afford the deductible. It does no good to save buckets of money with a $5,000 deductible if you don't have $5,000 when a claim occurs. Also consider if you only save $150 by moving your deductible from $1,000 to $5,000 it will take 26 years to save the $4,000 extra in deductible you'll pay if you have a claim.
You’ll want to add a coverage to your homeowner’s insurance called Sewer & Drain Backup. This coverage responds to the ensuing water damage when floor drains back up or sump pumps fail. This coverage is not automatically included in most homeowner’s insurance policies. Basic coverage often provides a modest limit sufficient for an unfinished basement. This limit can be increased. In Johnson County it is not uncommon for sump pumps to fail during a heavy rain storm especially when lightning knocks out power. Unless you check your basement every day, the water damage can go undiscovered long enough for mold to compound your overall problem. As an added precaution you may want to consider a battery backup for the pump along with an inexpensive basement water alarm. At the Bukaty Insurance Agency in Leawood, Kansas we can show you a great money-saving tips to help you save money on your homeowner’s insurance. Call us today at 913-777-7549.
