Terrible experience for our 3-year-old with Dr. Friedman. Not kid friendly at all. My 3-year-old just got tested for stigmatism. The doctor nor his assistant gave any explanation of what they were going to do. They simply started the examination by forcefully holding down my child and his eyes lids open with their hands. Why was none of this clearly explained to my 3-year-old and my wife who was there? It would have helped tremendously to simply take a couple of minutes to explain to the child and my wife what was going to happen. This is a common practice for pediatric health professionals such as my child’s dentist. This does not make any sense. I’m, extremely disappointed and will seek answers. Why would someone who is a “Pediatric Ophthalmologist” not take any kind of a child friend approach? Please learn from our experience and request a full explanation of the procedure. Explain what will happen to your child to make sure they understands and set his expectations.

Dr. Friedman helped us out tremendously with our 3 year old son's stye. I could have never imagined that a stye could be so invasive and get so big but Dr. Friedman did all he could to take care of it promptly. He was very personable with our child as well which meant a lot. His office staff and surgical coordinator both worked hard to help us take care of everything promptly. Very grateful for this doctor and his staff.
