Hi Virginia, My name is Alex, and I am the Communications Director for the Fort Collins Habitat affiliate. We currently open our homebuyer selection rounds one per year, and the next round will not be open until 2021. If you know someone that would be interested in applying to become a Habitat homebuyer, they can put their contact info onto a notification list so that when applications do open, they’ll be alerted. The applicant must meet several criteria in order to apply including income qualifications (to pay a monthly mortgage and save for closing costs) as well as ability to do “sweat equity” building their home and supporting Habitat events. I do believe you can schedule a pickup. The one here in Loveland used to. Anything house oriented they are interested in especially if it is in good shape ex: Sinks, Tubs, lumber, faucets, door knobs, etc. Just give them a call. I'm sure they would be more than happy to help you out.
