I drove over 25 miles to get to this so called “beach” because of the reviews I read... I was extremely disappointed when I finally got there... there are geese all over the beach, and barely any actual beach to speak off... I would not recommend this as a great beach

The custurd stand is gone but there is a dairy there now that serves chocolate. They recently opened. There is a write-up about them in the meridian township news.
Yet the Canadian Geese don't clean up after themselves. Good question enjoy your time. Better might be at the boat launch on the East side of the lake so the dog can get in for a swim. I would never tell you not to use a leash but some people do. Enjoy
I don't know of the Hilltop Tavern and I don't think we still have the OX roast. I've lived here for over 12 years.
It's not that bad I've caught some nice fish out of there. It is really weedy early in summer and fish can be finicky because of overpressure from shore but get in a kayak and hit the weed beds and you can catch some 3 to 5 pound bass
