They sold me a jacket that I later learned was worth $ 550 for 1,200 and he would not return the money. This store is a scam.

Smith is the only furrier I’ve done business with. The original owner, Nick, (now deceased) had a beautiful energy on him and inside his store, he was warm and welcoming, not mention classy! The business is now being ran by his son in law, also known as “Nick”, and let me just tell you how different the energy and feel of the business is. I haven’t stored my furs in a while so I called three days ago to get the new address because they’ve downsized the space after the original owner passed, the “New Fast Talking Nick” told me over the phone that he charged eighty one dollars for prepay and ninety dollars for pay at pick up for cleaning, conditioning and repairs, everything from A to Z, which is how I’ve always paid, but when I arrived that story somehow turned into much larger prices, almost as much as I e paid for each coat and he told me bold faced that he never mentioned a price to me over the phone, when my husband heard the entire conversation over speak while sitting next to me. After I decided I wasn’t going to pay his extremely expensive fees to service my furs, he removed my coats from his hangers and passed them back to me. It’s really ashame when real bosses pass away and the younger generation gets a hold of a Beautiful well respected business. After long, I won’t be surprised if this place closes for good. A word of advice, when you treat customers WELL, they return with more people and the business stay level or grows larger. I left there started a new relationship with another furrier!

Hello Gale! Thank you for your inquiry. Smith Furriers does not buy furs but we do take them as trade-ins toward a new purchase and occasionally they can be left on consignment depending on the age and condition. Please stop by our salon at your earliest convenience if you’d like to discuss those options.
I do not work there. Give Nate a call
Thanks alot
