July 20-23, 2022, I spent a very enjoyable time at the overflow tent camping. As always, the office staff was excellent. The gate guards were very courteous. The chow hall was very reasonable. The days were sunny with temperatures in the 70's during the day and overcast and in the mid-50's at night, perfect for tenting. I look forward to my next visit.

Yes, I believe so. There is an Overflow area at the campsite where I saw a tent and a vehicle parked right next to it. Cost for that area is $10.
You can tent camp. You have to have a military ID to get on base.
If you are 100% you should be able to get a dod id card. Slo is open to all dod, active duty, retired, and 100% disabled.
Are you retired, 100% disabled vet, or DOD employee? If so anyone of them has the military id that can be used!
