I came to visit my friend whom just moved in. She told me to park across from her unit. Luckily I went back to my car about 15 mins after arriving and there was a tow truck backing up to tow my vehicle. So whomever didn't ask me to move or tell me the rules. They called to get me towed. The man who heard me talking to my friend the home owner said he is a resident they towed him ans it cost him 600 for not even one day of towing. Sad sick and not okay

Update 2: They've respond to my review but have not responded to my last email or calls. It's all for show as they don't answer the phone and don't call back when you leave a message. Emails are also being ignored. Update: it's interesting that they've responded to another negative review on here that was left AFTER mine yet have still not responded to a single email after I requested information on the security deposit and have also ignored all calls. Clearly they have seen that I'm trying to get into contact with them and chose to continue to ignore it. DO NOT RENT HERE. Lived there for a year and a half and it was okay until it was time to move out. Montiavo is trying to keep most of our security deposit for cleaning/painting/carpet cleaning and ignoring all communication from us asking for proof that this was warranted. Under California law a landlord may only keep the security deposit for "amounts that are necessary and reasonable, and NOT the result of 'ordinary and reasonable wear and tear'." The law goes further to state "If you leave it [the rental] as clean as you got it, no deduction for cleaning is allowed, and the landlord has the burden to prove the difference". Despite MULTIPLE attempts to contact Montiavo and request proof that the cleaning (8 hours of it!) was necessary they have yet to respond to a single one. We are also 2 days out from the CA 21 days required to return the security deposit and with no response from Montiavo on our questions it's not looking good. So to recap - I wouldn't recommend living here and dealing with this shady company.

Update: have not received initial deposit back yet. We did receive an estimate for 8 hours of cleaning, painting, and carpet cleaning tho. What's cool tho is during the exit inspection, the inspector said it's one of the best units he's seen in terms of cleanliness. After doing some light reading of CA rental rights ("which there are plenty of btw") it looks like they may be in violation of charging for things like "general cleaning". I hope they resolve the situation before the need to to escalate. Spent 1.5 years there. Not bad service but got very expensive towards the end. Area isn't great and we had some packages stolen. But the neighbors and community is pretty cool. Don't expect luxury but also the staff treated us well
