I generally work to cut folks a lot of slack during these challenging times but, Wow. Just. Wow. CenCal is not a company I would choose to give my business to if it was my choice. Don't know how else to say it. Their lack of even basic organization is abysmal. I've been waiting for 3 months for them to get their act together so I can get the life changing surgery I need. 3 months as my condition worsens and I love nerve function. I'm curious if Santa Barbara and SLO Counties know who they are contracting with and how absolutely horrible they are. Dreadful.

My CenCal providers have been 99% amazing! They saved my life - literally. They go above and beyond and I am forever grateful to them for all they do. Blessings!!

You can't even use it in another part of California.
Hello, Andy: If you have a question about whether a particular doctor or clinic contracts with CenCal Health, please call our Member Services dept, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m., at (877) 814-1861. They are happy to help!
Hello. CenCal Health is the health plan for people with no-cost Medi-Cal. There are no deductibles or costs. To find out if you qualify, contact the local county dept of Social Services and apply.
CenCal Health isn't insurance; we're a Medi-Cal Managed Care health plan...the oldest in the nation of our type. You can't purchase CenCal Health. And we do not determine eligibilty, enrollment or disenrollment. We provide insurance-like health coverage for more than 210,000 residents of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. A person must meet income and eligibilty requirements. Learn more at www.cencalhealth.org/howtoapply Hope this helps.
Hello, Lee: CenCal Health does not determine eligibilty, nor the criteria for eligibility/coverage. Your local County Department of Social Services does that, and can answer all your questions. In Santa Barbara County, residents can call the Santa Barbara County Department of Social Services at (844) 289-4682. If you live in San Luis Obispo County, residents can call (805) 781-1600. Many individual cities in these counties have offices that you can contact, too. Thank you for your interest in CenCal Health.
Thanks for your question. Please call our Member Services department toll-free at 877-814-1861 (TTY 833-556-2560) Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. to discuss. They'd be happy to help!
Hi, Fran: For information about obtaining a COVID-19 vaccine, please refer to your local county public health department. That organization is in charge of planning distribution. Here are links to those organizations in the two counties CenCal Health serves: https://publichealthsbc.org/ (Santa Barbara) https://www.slocounty.ca.gov/Departments/Health-Agency/Public-Health.aspx (SLO County)
No. They will end your medical. I am going through this right now.
Hello, Pat. Thank you for contacting CenCal Health. I'm not sure exactly what you are referring to. Please call our Member Services department Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm at (877) 814-1861 (TDHI 711 for the hearing impaired) to speak to a live person. They can help.
No. You can't even use it outside the county.
Don't get it. It is extremely limited.
Possibly because the member isn't eligible anymore? I don't know, call member services and ask them.
They will end your coverage. They are paired with social services. I have ebt and moved to sb. I lost my medical, dr. I can't even get meds currently cause I'm visiting family and this is the only insurance I've ever had that won't let you get meds outside sb.
