Very nice rooms and good location. The only issue i had is after checking out, getting my receipt, and departing, the FOLLOWING day, they charged me $25 for checking out 15 min late. I was there 6 days and was there due to a death in the family and was attending the viewing, funeral, and other related activities for the death of my loved one. Everything from flights, rent a cars, etc, clipped me for various add ed on charges at time when it’s already a stressful trip. I was really happy that the Cardinal Inn didn’t seem to try and get deeper in my pockets. BUT, they did, after I left, charging my account another $25 for 15 minutes. I gave this place high ratings in all the categories available because it was a nice place. But I was furious that they snuck in a $25 “late charge” after I had spent over $525 there, and lots if $$ supporting area restaurants and stores. Here is the end result though: i have a family reunion trip in the area agaun in June, and was going to stay at the Cardinal Inn. This would cost me approximately $1100 dollars. Well, i am canceling my June stay with them. I truly hope that $25 was more important to them than the $1100 i would be spending there in 3 months. And I will be passing this along to other family members that i had previously suggested stay there for our reunion. They too will be cancelling. Enjoy that $25 Cardinal management, i’ll be spending my $$ elsewhere. I will also be copying and pasting this rant on all my social media outlets.

If you are planning to stay at this property with a pet, you'll need to book far out in advance and even then you might be out of luck. Spoke to the front desk today and they list that they are pet friendly, but only allow dogs in 3 out of the 40 rooms at their property. We need a room with two beds for our family and there is only one room out of their 40-room property that allows dogs. I was told that I could stay somewhere else, but there are very few places to stay within a 30-minute drive so that's not exactly helpful customer service. Beyond this issue, I've stayed at this property multiple times and it's definitely overpriced for what you get, but when there's no competition they can get away with it. I'd recommend traveling 20 minutes to stay at the Fullerton Inn instead. You'll likely save at least $30 a night, the rooms are nicer and the breakfast is much better.

This place is wonderful and affordable! The staff is friendly. Has a bar and laundry facilities on site. The bed and pillows were comfy..I hadn't slept that good in days. Showers are amazing..lots of pressure! The only downside, was there wasn't a counter in the bathroom with brighter lights for getting ready to go. I was on vacation so that truly didn't matter! 😁

We ended up with handicap room. Room was very clean & tile, etc looked new., Service was courteous. Breakfast items had variety & would have been enough for someone without my dairy-almost allergy. Only problem for me was shower head was too high to attempt to lower spray (which was nicely aimed at bench for sitting person). So the floor around toilet got wet as it sprayed off back wall.
