Omg. Worlds best Sushi and Shashimi in land-locked SLC? How would have guessed? We’ve had Japanese sushi in Tokyo, Houston, Dallas, Singapore, Beijing, LA, Phoenix, Seattle - and this place is the bomb. The meat is creamy, presentation flawless, with amazing sauces. Do not miss. Such a treat. Well done. And by the way - ‘It’s a Utah Thing’. Bring your IDs, and don’t expect to be able to transit your beer across the five feet in the vestibule from bar to restaurant. It’s a Utah Thing.

As always.. this place is one of my favorites. Not just for sushi. Instead; we come for a good time, great service and delicious dessert. Tempura, sake and raw delights.. tapioca and mango mousse.

Best sushi restaurant in SLC. Always a line! Get there early. Great service.

Great food but very very busy.

I wouldn't....food and service is of such high quality you would not be able to fully appreciate the production and those around you might be distracted as well.
They most definitely do have Omakase. In fact, I no longer order off the menu whenever I visit and exclusively do Omakase.
Not quite yet. They are still worried about getting the sushi chefs sick
You can make reservations by phone and online although you have to make it a day in advance they get very busy all the time. However it is worth the wait cause the sushi is sooo delicious 😋
Yes they have a full bar - beer, wine, sake, and specialty cocktails... i personally love the Tokyo Manhattan :)
I've been to Takashi many times for lunch and dinner and its the same menu. They do have specials on the wall, but not an entirely different menu.
They're usually very booked up, and they don't usually do phone reservations. So you'd want to show up as soon as they open to get your reservation. You may also want to call ahead the day before to see what they recommend.
Yes they have inarizushi. Can't remember the cost of the rolls, but this place is in the medium-high range for prices. Totally worth it though.
Reservations for parties of 6 to 10 within first half hour of any opening shift.
No.
For dinner for two full adventure about $80-100 plus tip . Totally worth it. Get seated at the bar for personal service and chef recommendations. Also no reservations so get there early. There is a speakeasy called The Rest nearby which is great place to wait.
No. I go to there without online order.
No, Sunday, Chrismas Eve, Takashi will be closed.
