My grandson really liked this museum. This was the second time we've visited and we really enjoyed it. The only thing he was disappointed about was that the butterfly exhibit wasn't open.

It was a pity bcause the souvenir shop closed at 16pm.
There are many attractive souvenir.
However, it was a good museum with interesting exhibits.

Before the pandemic, all museums were free, what a pity that when they charge so much money
Yes, you are. The pictures you can see on the Academy of Natural Sciences (Google photos) are the contributions from so many visitors who took them (including mine).
If you're visiting during the weekends look around for the ones that offer all day weekend rates under ten dollars. However some of those same lots may charge double during special events.
There is also street parking around at around $2.50/hour.
Depends on the day, weekends are more crowded in general. Weekdays there are school groups but they usually clear out by 2. I would say shoot for as soon as they open or later in the afternoon
1815 Cherry Street, Logan Square indoor parking garage, uses app., iParkit for payment, prior to visiting the museum's handicapped entrance on corner of 19th Street and Cherry Street.
If i buy a ticket online can i use that ticket anyday for one day of that year like how the Aquarium is? Just in case plans fall through and i can go a diff day.
You can park on any of the streets with hourly parking. No permit necessary. A permit will just let you stay all day. There's 2-3 hr metered parking (diagonal spots) if you park near the Franklin Institute which is only a few blocks away from the Academy of Natural Sciences. You may have to circle the block a few times but spots do open up. Download the PPA app & you can refill your meter while you're in the musem if your time is about to run out.
1 year family membership is $103 with Groupon right now. Or save $2 if you purchase on-line.

Is this mainly geared towards kids? Or will adults be entertained by this museum?

Adults will enjoy it too! There's only one section that is completely geared toward children (Inside Out). Otherwise there's more classic exhibits for everyone.
