Wonderful experience. Thorough health history review and examination prior to the first adjustment. Walked through the plan to work through my problem areas as well as maintain my overall well being. Used multiple techniques during my adjustment and I feel better already. Followed up with exercises and tips via email to keep me on my path. Wonderful visit, fabulous bedside manner, flexible schedule, reasonable pricing. I would highly recommend.

Dr. Owen treats my issues with concern and personal attention. He keeps in communication throughout the treatment process and guides me with his knowledge. He has become a vital part of my health.

Dr. Owen is very knowledgeable. He has given me several different exercises and stretches to do at home to help with my low back pain as well as informative emails about my condition and how to use stretches and other exercises along with his chiropractic adjustments to help promote healing and pain management.

If you’re looking for a Chiropractor, Dr. Owen is the best. For years I struggled with such awful headaches/backaches. I took the suggestion from a family member to go see him to see if it could help at all - best decision ever. My aches are far less to come by now because of Dr. Owen and anytime I have an issue, he is quick to get me in to receive help. He’s very friendly and explains everything and why he is doing that technique on that area. Go see him, you won’t regret it!!

Yes we do, and we accept payment from your medpay and the other driver's insurance.
We do use the drop table for some adjustments. It helps to add speed to the adjustment so we do not have to use as much force to get the job done. Most patients find it very comfortable. If this is something you do not prefer, though, please let us know as we have many other techniques to adjust your spine and joints.
In instances like this, we often find that the providers who say this are not aware of what we can help with and how we go about doing so. If you have any questions, we recommend scheduling a consultation and/or evaluation so that we can know more about your situation. There are very rare instances where we cannot provide treatment based on certain factors, and will be honest with you if that is the case. If treatment would be safe and appropriate, we will always be honest with you as to what we can predict for improvement of your condition. You do not need a referral to be seen by us.
Refer to our website for any questions regarding fees. If you do not see them there, give us a call and we would be happy to answer any questions.
Please call us! We would be happy to answer any questions you have. We would even be happy to schedule a time for you to sit down face to face with the doctor to have any concerns addressed before any evaluation or treatment. These consultations are free of charge and come with no obligations to schedule following them.
Conditions treated include: low back pain, sciatica, sports injuries, sprains, strains/pulled muscles, neck pain, extremity pain (hips, ankles, knees, shoulders, etc.), disc issues/stenosis, mid/upper back pain, myofascial pain/trigger points, headaches, mobility/flexibility issues, joint and muscle stiffness, posture problems, and radiculopathy (shooting pains).
We accept Medicare and Medicaid, as well as auto accident insurance. For all other plans, we are out of network. This means we accept payment from the patient but still submit claims on the patient's behalf. Most plans have out of network benefits, and will mail the patient a check for the covered amount. We do accept HSA payments. We have several reasons for being out of network, including not letting insurance companies dictate the care patients receive. We find that being out of network we are able to provide higher quality services to better meet patients' needs. Also, we are able to spend more time with patients because of this. By staying out of network, we are able to keep our fees reasonable and competitive. If you have any questions regarding out of network benefits, we encourage you to call your insurance company.
Yes we do! We are participating providers for Iowa Medicaid as well as their current MCOs: Amerigroup and Iowa Total Care.
Yes we do! We are participating providers for Medicare. Their coverage applies for spinal adjustments but they do not cover any other services provided by chiropractors.
Services include consultation, evaluation, spinal and extremity adjustments, soft tissue therapies (such as IASTM and cupping), taping, exercise therapy and instruction, and coordination of care with other health care providers.
Yes we do! We are happy to provide this as it has shown to be very effective for muscle pains and tension.
Absolutely not. While back pain and neck pain are the primary conditions patients present with, we often treat patients for extremity conditions including shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles, feet, and all the muscles in between. We also treat rib and TMJ problems.
Absolutely not. Our ultimate goal is for our patients to become as independent and self sufficient as possible, not needing our services continually. We want to be here when you need us, nothing further. With that being said, we do have patients who opt for supportive care after being released from active care as they feel that the occasional treatment makes them feel good. We are happy to provide this as well if that is something you prefer.
Absolutely. We are located on the southeast corner of the 23rd Street and Broadway intersection. This is directly across from Dunkin' Donuts and catty-corner to Taco Johns. Parking is located alongside the building on 23rd Street, or you can also park along the curb of 23rd Street. This could also be described as being on the backside of HyVee. As we do not currently have our own signage, the building is labeled as Caster Chiropractic Center.
Absolutely not. We find practices like that to be very unethical and strongly dislike hearing stories about clinics who do that.
We do not require x-rays for most patients. In fact, x-rays are not warranted in most of the cases we see and provide no benefit to treatment and outcomes. We only obtain x-rays when it is necessary, which depends on certain conditions.
While most of our adjusting is manual, we are happy to provide instrument adjusting for patients who prefer it, or for those patients who manual adjusting is not appropriate for.
Yes we do. We prefer to use manual techniques for adjusting, and it is safe and appropriate for most patients. For patients who it is not appropriate for or do not prefer it, we do offer instrument adjusting as well.
Yes we do! We enjoy helping the young population with their pains and injuries. Children usually respond well and quickly to care so that they can return to full function and performance.
Yes we do! We love helping pregnant patients with their aches and pains. Chiropractic care for pregnancy has shown to be safe and effective.
No you do not! Chiropractors in most states, including Iowa, have physician status and do not need a referral. With that being said, we are unique for a chiropractic clinic in that we do like to communicate with your medical provider(s) so that they are aware of our diagnosis and treatment plan and they can stay in the loop with your progress.
Yes we do! We prefer to use Dynamic Tape for our taping applications, which works great to reduce tension in muscles and provide stability.
Yes! Please visit our website, click the 'book now' tab, and fill out the form requesting your appointment and approximate time. We will reply promptly.
We do not provide these services, but would be happy to refer you to a provider we know and trust.
Yes we do! Cupping therapy is a great tool we use to help ease pain and tension.
Yes we do! In most cases for a patient with a past spinal surgery, treatment is safe and beneficial. It is good to take care of other areas of the spine away from the surgery, and in some cases it is safe to treat the same region of the surgery!
For nearly all patients we do begin treatment on the first visit. The only exception is if we need to order further testing to assist with diagnosis to know what the most appropriate modes of treatment would be.
New patient appointments are about an hour. Follow up appointments can range from 10-30 minutes, depending on what is planned for treatment.
Yes we are! As most of our patients have relatively short care plans at our office compared to other clinics, we end up with plenty of open time slots to schedule new patients.
We take credit card, debit card, HSA card, cash, or check. We also accept payment from insurance companies in the following instances: Medicare patient, Medicaid patient, or auto accident patient.
Yes we do!
