What a rockin' place. I was traveling around and just happened to stop for the night in Lincoln when, soon after, I looked for a place to run. I don't know if people in Lincoln realize this - most towns don't have such a trail on the ready. Lots of little animals, well groomed trail that would serve for solid barefoot runs for a dainty runner like myself, and a lot of distance so you don't have to loop endlessly. In my silliness, I'd love to see this wilderness park extended throughout Lincoln, connecting routes with daily destinations (1 the town may already have this, and I don't know and 2 that's simply what I want in my Utopia, a world where we're outside all the time cycling between runs, naps, and eating until the end of time - thankfully I'm not in charge...of anything). What good fortune I had finding this place. If I was promoting Lincoln, this (I know football might be up on the list around here) would be my starting point. Well done.

It's a big park, but it is pretty overgrown with weeds that have sticker seeds.

Wilderness is definitely my favorite place to hike/walk/bike in Lincoln. There are so many different trails, it is expensive, and I often see animals. It's beautiful. The only problem I ever encounter is people not leashing their dogs, which can be problematic for a number of reasons.

Questions & Answers

So.... How is this park for chiggers and ticks? Or have the mosquitos sucked all the blood out of everyone, leaving the chiggers and ticks to starve?

I think the moquitos have sucked all the blood out. Bring bug spray in the summer.

Negative. As far as I've known, your best bet is going out of town
