If it was possible to give a zero rating i would have. My wife and I took our dog on Saturday for emergency services. The doctor was rude, belligerent, condescending, arrogant and down right mean!!! She kept cutting me off when i was responding to her questions. The third time she talked over me i attempted to talk over her. She cut me off and refused to talk to me. I was not rude, inappropriate with my language or any other conduct including the tone of my voice. I simply talked louder one time in an effort to give a complete but brief answer. My wife continued on our behave and when asked about dog medication which my wife did not know the answer; I stepped in and was abruptly cut off and told by the doctor that she was not talking to me and that I WAS NOT ALLOWED TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. She was not talking to me!! Then she threatened us by telling us that if we did not work with her we would have to go to Lansing which had a 14 hour wait yesterday. Can you image? Therefore, we were not able to convey critical information. However, she did have time to ridicule my wife when told that we feed our dog once a day stating that it is not the healthy way to take care of a dog. Of course, my wife was not allowed to explain that our dog free feeds. We put his food down around noon and he eats when he feels like it. That is perfectly healthy and normal for a dog that does not like to gobble his food down. I cannot imagine the horrors that go on inside the clinic given nobody is allowed to enter the building or to observe or interact with the doctor or staff. On top of that, we were charged almost $600 for the removal of dozen quills and a detailed invoice copy was not provided. You read that right $600. Absolutely over the top Greed. There is absolutely no way we will ever return !!!!!!!!!!! And I mean never ever !!!!

It is not often that I leave a negative review, as I much prefer to talk with the owner of the business to resolve my issues. In this case, the owner of the business hung up on me and refused to even hear what I had to say. Dr. Grant was incredibly rude, unprofessional, and I did not trust her to care for my pet. My puppy was seriously injured and bleeding. He was locked in a crate for an hour and a half before Dr. Grant informed me that the only way she could even evaluate his injury was to put him under anesthesia, completely shave him, and do surgery. When I asked if there was another alternative to evaluate him, she unloaded on me and told me that I didn’t care about my puppy or his health. She talked over me, insinuated that she did not have time for my questions, and showed no concern at all for my dog. I should have checked the reviews before I took him there. The front desk clerk was also very rude. This is an awful facility and I do not recommend it to anyone.

We took our cat here after we were second guessing another vets decision. They were very kind and helpful and helped gave us options. Unfortunately our little guy was a lot sicker than we originally thought and had to be put to sleep. They were kind and compassionate and let me sit with him through it all. Thank you Great Lakes Pet Emergencies for all you did for my little Biddy.

Very compassionate. We had to put my daughter's cat down. They gave her all the time she wanted to say goodbye. Yes the tests were expensive. Remember this is an emergency facility. Thankfully I could pay for them. We were glad they took her and gave us peace of mind there was nothing we could have done to save her.
