The New London Inn is a special place, with a lot of wonderful tradition. We last stayed there about 50 years ago, and were pleased it has retained so much charm--roaring fires on cold February evenings, antique furnishings, welcoming staff. The rooms have been nicely maintained, even including an up-to-date heating system where the thermostats really work. The restaurant is no longer open for breakfast, but they serve very nice muffins and scones in the lobby, with fresh coffee and tea.

The moment I walked in the Inn I felt comfortable and welcomed. We stayed for two days. The staff was very genuine with their freindly demeanor. The food was awesome....in the Onyx Tavern. The rooms were as an Inn should be not perfect....but charming and clean. Usually, a real Inn is not new construction....but that is why....we choose to go......the quaintness is always endearing to our 💜.

We recently used a private room and the terrace for a wedding rehearsal dinner followed by a reception for all arriving wedding guests. We received excellent advice and attention to detail when planning the events. The food was excellent at both events. The wines available from the wine list were interesting – not the typical ones we see everywhere. The wines selected were very popular with the guests. A beautiful charcuterie board for the reception was much appreciated. Staff were all excellent, both at the dinner and during the reception.

New London has awesome breakfast option. Grounds is a great specialty coffee shop directly across the street. Blue Loon is an award winning bakery, also across the street. And for a full gourmet breakfast, try Tuckers. We even have a Dunkin Donuts for those with a certain addiction. All options within walking distance!
You can walk! Literally, cross the town green and cross Whipple hall and you're on campus. No need to fight for parking on move in day. leave your car with us.
Yes! New London is a fabulous area for year round activities. Lakes in the summer, skiing in the winter, hiking in the fall, and lots of options in the springtime. The Town is a classic New England town, vibrant, with lots of charm. People walking dogs. Neighbors help each other. Shops and eclectic finds. This place does not roll up the sidewalks!
