Very peaceful and clean

Night 1/4; puddle & mold under room a/c. TV Remotes non-functional. Immediately Brought to attention of mgt with No action. Day 2; again voiced issues and went to mgt office. Given another remote and told I must program remote. Batteries dead in replacement remote. No clean up of water- mold nor offer to move to different room. With allergies this is a hostile environment to bear. Day 3; finally offered different room. No mold and was clean. A few tv channels worked, most did not. I thought it was a prank.

These are older rooms that have been converted from a motel(?). They have been updated and are comfortable. The location is the biggest plus. You can see the ocean from your room and is maybe a two to three minute walk to a great beach access!

The best aspect of staying at the Continental is it's location. It is literally a 3 minute walk to the beach. And there are shops right next door and across the street if you need something basic. And because you are at Sunset, its a short drive to anything fun or dining options in the area. Unfortunately, thats where the positives end. We have stayed here twice, and had a host of issues. The first stay (room 102), the AC unit was leaking into a moldy bucket. The furniture was less than clean, and the bed was stiff. The fold out couch was like a sleeping on steel, and we had to get an air mattress so the kids could sleep. The second stay (room 108), the beds in the corner of the hotel were lumpy as a stone garden. My wife wound up sleeping in the top bunk in the other room, and I slept on the couch because our backs were wrecked after a couple days. The AC in that room wasn't working that well, and the in-room TV would cut in and out as would the WiFi. Overall the place is 3.5 stars. Its hard to beat the location. But the rooms and amenities need some serious work.

Mark Wickerham there are not, but it's not a far drive to find one.
