I did Rogaine Orienteering Event yesterday 07/09/2022 and thats how I found myself in the forest. An amazing area with wonderful smells of nature, fresh raspberries, stunning views. You can walk through the park or ride on a gravel/dirt road that goes through the forest or you can turn into the woods.

Took molly camping at one of our favorite spots the lean to ! Molly turned into Dora the explorer never wanting to go back to camp! I finally got her to turn back to camp by the offer of her favorite food!

This is a very large park with ample mountain biking and hiking trails. This area connects to Tinker Falls and the Hang Glide overlooking Labrador Pond as well. Some nice gorges and waterfalls - and very technical and steep mountain biking trails that you sometimes share with hikers. If it's too crowded around Tinker Falls - come here, you will run into way less people.

A wide variety of scenery and terrain are experienced on the three mile loop trail. The path is easy to follow and firm.

I have been there several times. Never done a search on those burried there. The stones are quite weathered and difficult to read. The dates if i remember correctly are from the 1800's. It does appear to be a family, maybe even a small child or 2.
The roads are where we used our stroller, a 3 wheel jogging unit.
Keep in mind, you do need to get a permit to camp around Shackham Pond . There are some rather nice camping sites around the pond though and its worth the time to get the permit. If you dont mind a walk there are some rather remote areas around the other side. Well marked trails (blue paint) . If you want something closer Valcore Point has some good tent spots and with a short walk is accessible from the road. It has a really nice view of the pond and a well established fire pit. Pack out your trash!
Not really. The creek was too shallow and even though I camped for 3 days hiking throughout the small pond was never a destination point, so I can't offer much help there.
This is a state forest. Go to ny dec website for rules using state forest land and primitive camping. Common courtesy applies so if your getting in at or near bed time for most hikers don't be running generators or sledge hammering steaks past 10
