This is an amazing restaurant! Truly home-cooking! I haven't had a Southern fried steak that good since I lived in the South and my grandma made em at home. (It's actually HOMEMADE, not just frozen and fried before you order!) I can't rave enough about how friendly the two very busy waitresses were and how delicious the food was! Oh and the homemade biscuits are to DIE for!!!!! This is a gem of a restaurant and can't wait to travel back through to stop for breakfast/lunch!!!!! One of my favorite spots I've found since I moved to Idaho!

Easily the best breakfast in Cascade. I reccomend grandpa's special with biscuits! You have to have the biscuits! My only complaint is they don't have flavored creamer for the coffee.

Nothing Fancy just great consistent food and service without breaking the bank

I read great reviews about this place. This is constructive criticism. I understand that there were only two waitresses. The restaurant was not busy at all. We were there after lunch. I'm sure the food is good, but we didn't get that far. Our waitress seemed to be put out that we were there. She didn't greet us, or appeared friendly. She cleaned tables instead of greeting us. After about 10 minutes, she finally took our order. Another couple came in several minutes after us and was served by a different waitress. They got their salads promptly. Mine never came. I forgot to tell her my dressing, thinking she'd come back to ask, but she never did. Time goes by. More time goes by. It's about 30 minutes after we order. She never came to tell us our order will be out soon, or to see if we needed more water, or to give me my salad. We decided to leave. Just as we were walking out the door, she grabbed our food from the kitchen window. We didn't go back for it. I was terribly disappointed in the lack of communication. Having myself worked in service before, and with patients, I know keeping people informed is very important. The food did look great (that's why I even gave two stars) and I was looking forward to mashed potatoes and gravy, but I refuse to have subpar service no matter how short handed a business is. Communication and a smile is needed in the service industry.
