Really great. Very clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Hotel was quiet. Front desk staff were all very nice. Breakfast was a nice touch. 2 different kind of eggs, muffins, toast, bagels, cereal, fruit, waffles. I left my work phone in the room when i checked out. They called me a few hours later to let me know. Very honest staff. Was my first time staying at this brand but plan to look for them wherever i travel now!

My partner and I stayed over for one night in a non-smoking king room. We had a wonderful experience here. I’m a light sleeper and I slept like a log on their bed. We also swam a few easy laps in their pool. I would definitely come here again!!

We have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, but the last couple times were a major let down. We were just there over the weekend and agreed that it will be our last. The extremely outdated carpet and furniture in the room had many stains and there was a ton of food underneath the living room chair cushion. The couch had zero support and we were basically sitting on springs. Even the bathroom wall was damaged and the porcelain in the tub was chipped. We know marijuana is legal in Michigan but didn't expect to smell it throughout the hallway. It was pretty noisy and groups of people stood outside our door and loudly socialized. This didn't feel like the hotel we stayed at years ago. It felt more like a party spot. The location and price are good, but not good enough for us to return.

Stayed here in between night shifts at local hospital. They were kind enough to accommodate my odd check-in and checkout times (8am to 6pm) without charging me an extra night. They even made a note of this for next staff member so they wouldn’t wake me up or attempt to check me out early. So I arrived at 8am, front desk says “do you need anything before you go up? Because you’re going to sleep, right?” I confirm, and she again tells me I’m all set for late checkout. I take a sleep aid, and I go to sleep… … until 1pm (which is the middle of the night for me). There’s a banging at my door. 2 women need me to come to the door to tell me I have to leave in an hour. When I explain that I was granted late checkout, I was told “There are new girls who shouldn’t be doing that” and that my room needs to be cleaned at 2pm, so I had an hour to clear out. Mind you I have taken sleeping pills and its the middle of the night for me. I have to work in 6 hours, nowhere to go. So i called down to desk and had them add another night stay, for the extra 3 hours of sleep. No, they hadn’t overbooked my room. They just wanted to fleece me out of another night’s rent. TL/DR: They baited me for one night, woke me up in middle of night, charged me for 2 nights, treated me like this was my fault, ni apologies. I won’t be back.

How far is the hotel to the downtown area

It is right on the edge, but the village is rather small. Just a couple minutes drive time you're through it. Less than a mile to the historic stores at the triangle. I recommend visiting The Old Mill Museum, just across the river from the downtown stores, free entry. Friday through Monday 12-4 are the hours. For food, Rivers Edge Pizza is great! Kozy Korner, Great Lakes Pub are both good too, decent prices. If you like Mexican LaFiesta is the way to go.
