So I am very disappointed in this place tried twice to adopt a puppy. First time they gave to foster parents. Went in today had two pups out on Petfinder 12 hours ago. So they are closed Sunday and Monday. Tuesday went in at 10. But they had set meet and greet for wed. Now is this fair ? I was prepared to adopt

Recently one of their adoptable pets, specifically a dog, attacked a cat in someone’s home. Unfortunately they had to return the dog in hopes she will be placed with a home that can accommodate to a reactive dog, but when she was posted about Stray Haven failed to mention that she needs to be in a home without other pets. This is something that people need to be made aware of so she can live a happy life. However, when we tried to bring awareness to this situation, we were bombarded by hateful and disrespectful comments by an employee. Quite unprofessional and irresponsible for a shelter to not ensure that all customers adopting animals have the proper background.

I went for a garage sale they were having then I went into the 2 building to see the cats and dogs. They are wonderful to the animals.. clean... They work very hard for what donation they get. The workers and volunteer take the animals out run in a big fenced yard.

Yes.
We always a variety of animals available. Please call our office when we are open to see who we have! You're also welcome to stop in!
They are open on the weekends
Yes they have a spay neuter program!
Unfortunately we can not. We don't process any dog licenses.
They have some young cats there right now. They can put you on a list of you are looking for a certain age. One super playful and energetic tux cat is definatly not adult yet.
They do, but they dont take emergencies. Had my female and male cats spayed/neutered recently
They have had rabbits before, but to find out if they have any currently, you can always give them a call or look them up on pet finder. (607-565-2859)
If you go to petfinder.com and put in the zip code it'll show you all the dogs they have!
It's not hard at all. Just show proper proof of ownership, such as pictures, license, and/or vet records.
No we don't. You'd have to contact the sheriff's office to see which humane societies do.
Yes
We currently have enough towels and sheets. Thank you for thinking of the shelter pets though! You may want to check with other local shelters or veterinary offices.
Not Usally. I would call 1st be4 driving there
Stray Haven welcomes volunteers during open hours. Children ages 8 and up accompanied by a parent or guardian can volunteer with cats, 13 and up with dogs. Teens 16 and 17 can volunteer solo with a permission slip.
