My aunt was sent here while needing treatment for her Parkinson's disease. I cannot say enough how positively awful this place was for both her on the inside and for us, her family, on the outside. We were not allowed to visit her, barely received updates, could never get through to the front desk, rude staff, the list goes on and on. I will be filing a formal complaint with whomever I possibly can. This place is a nightmare and if you have a relative who has been sent there, do everything you possibly can to get them out. The caseworker and ONE nurse were the only people who seemed to care or know what was going on. They are the only reason this place deserves even ONE star. The pitts.

One Flew Over the Coockoos Nest!!! This is most deplorable place. Smell of old urine 24/7. You’re treated worse than a caged animal. It’s all about $$$$. They were determined to punish me by making me stay when I had something to say about this place. Was continually told I had anxiety problems. When finally discharged, the 2 meds they tried to switch me to gave me bad migraine headaches and had me so doped up I couldn’t function. All the restrooms are locked 24/7. Patients were forced to walk the length of the building to use the only one hopefully open. Most had accidents by the time they finally got there. Whenever you asked for anything was made to wait at least 30 mins. Ms Lovey was very nice and helped as much as time would allow. She too is overwhelmed by the needs here. The Therapist was very sweet also. The Nurse techs are nice just so many challenges for them too! This place should be shut down and forced to update the outdated condition it’s in. Charity hospital was kept closed all behind $$$$. It is and was better. Not one handicap toilet in any restroom. Couldn’t give it a 0 star. More like a -0 Where is Health and Hospital board that allows this place to stay open? Guess I’ll be treated even worse if I ever get forced there again. Not a chance in this lifetime.

My father-in-law was transferred there from Ochsner medical, Wednesday. So far communication with the facility has been good. We had a conference call with the social worker and the sibling that went well and they have answered our questions. So far the experience has been positive. But we have a couple of weeks to find out. Neil and Bobbi Sanchez
