I was pleased with the efficiency, courtesy and professionalism of all personnel during check-in, check-out, price, and my Honda HRV. I had a snafu regarding gift certificates, but it was resolved by Chelsea on the phone after I returned home.

Re: Rental Agreement Number 458346210 Reservation Number 16394331-US-2 On September 15, 2022 we were charged for 1.3 gallons of gas as your representative claims we returned the car with less than a full tank, 17.7 gallons instead of 19 gallons. We did, indeed, fill up prior to returning the car. As designed, the gas station pump automatically shut off when it sensed the tank was full. We then drove approximately 2 miles to return the car. The car gas gauge showed full upon return, as it had when we picked the car up. I have two thoughts - one, how were we to know we received the car with 19 gallons as analog gauges are only approximations (additionally, can you actually put 19 gallons into a 19 gallon tank); two, is this 'upcharge' an inappropriate and pre-planned policy of Avis/Budget car rental? I will be forwarding this to the Suffolk County Department of Consumer Affairs as well as the New York State Attorneys Office.

Flight was 7 minutes late, which meant we landed at 10:57pm. I had made my reservation for 11pm, and included my flight info on the reservation (as they request, so they can—supposedly—be aware and ready for you if your flight is late). I even tried to call right before our flight finally took off, and I spoke with someone at a call center who told me he would speak with the local agency, and put me on hold. Not a problem, except I got bounced back to the phone tree instead of being placed on hold, and couldn’t get back to the rep. By that time I had to turn my phone off. I walked into the rental car center at 11:10pm. There was a person at the National desk, but not Budget. He informed me they always leave at 11pm on the dot and “don’t care” that flights may come in late, leaving people stranded. This is the first and last time I will make a reservation with Budget. Incompetence at every level, it seems like. Thankfully I didn’t pre-pay!

It depends on a number of factors including size, how long and where you'll be returning it. Economy cars can start at $50/day all the way up to premium SUVs and cars that could be $200+/day. Visit the rental agency's website, a third party retailer or call the desk to find accurate pricing.
There's a sign on the rental counter stating passengers arriving after 7:45pm must wait until the counter opens the next day. You should call to confirm.
