I have a 1986 vintage Luxman receiver which was acting up so I searched here on Google and found Ampexperts.com. I called them and talked to Mark who was very knowledgeable as I explained my problem. As a electronic technician I knew i couldn't fix anything without the equipment. Mark has everything needed and I was quite impressed by not only his expertise bit the equipment he has. I haven't seen that much equipment since I worked at Norden Systems back in the 60's. He took my receiver in and not only fixed the problem he made sure it was running perfectly. Plus I thought he was more then generous with his billing. Thank you Mark!

Yes, sometimes when this happens, it can damage another component like a resistor. The 3045 doesn't have screen resistors, since it's an ultralinear output with a screen tap, but sometimes the manufacturer puts in a resistor to serve as a fuse and that resistor may open after a catastrophic tube failure and need replacement. The MB3045 is an excellent amplifier and can perform every bit as well as the top McIntosh tube amplifiers with its superb output transformers. If you're local to CT, you can hand deliver them to our New Milford shop.
