I have been going to this Thrift Shop for many years and I am horrified how the prices have just escalated, some of the prices are absolutely ridiculous. I am not sure if it is due to new management just having no clue about what they are doing, but they need to take notice. They will not sell anything at these prices, there are things in this shop that have been there for months, don't they get it, the price is to high, mark it down, get the money for the charity. I won't be shopping there again until someone gets it, management needs to know this is not attracting customers but forcing them to stay away. Also.the change to the shop in Nevada City is not good, prices are way to high, no friendly staff, like at the old location, its more like a Marshalls than a Thrift Shop.

I wanted to give more than three stars. However I can't do that until Hospice Thrift Stores and ALL other thrift stores for that matter will explain to me and others how they do their pricing? After all most people shop at thrift stores (i e USED good stores) because either they THEMSELVES need to save money because they have LIMITED income... BTW 99% of people have LIMITED $$. We support ALL good causes to help others I respect that greatly as I believe in a altruism and frequently donate to "non profit" I understand there are overhead costs like rent, insurance & wages as well. All of that being said... I know that myself and many others would like it explained ;how a non profit thrift store does the pricing? Because of the fact that everything is 100% donated so anything that you add on as a price a sale price is PURE profit basically. So the reason why I am asking is because I do shop at thrift stores a lot and while most times things are priced within reason I find MORE and MORE items severely overpriced. I can go to a store a discount store that sells NEW items and buy a similar item for the same cost. I have to ask myself why I am buying a used item at the same cost as a new item? Also more disturbing is, sometimes the used item is priced even MORE than a NEW item, which I find way too often lately at these "thrift" stores. This is something that must be addressed and fixed. Those that run "thrift" store sales ; must ask yourself ,what are you doing to really serve the community that SHOP at your stores. Perhaps you should ALSO be empathetic to the fact that there are people shopping at your stores that NEED to save money too (an economic hospice saving if you will🤔😉). After all you are making 100% profit on ALL goods sold in your stores. So I ask you please explain to me and others how you do your pricing? Why it's okay to sell things at the same cost as NEW ITEM discount stores and sometimes even more than those stores sell new items? That to me is very unacceptable. So I am asking you to at least explain that. I do understand marking "collectables" higher but regular clothing etc is EXCESSIVE don't you think?
