super tasty, carrot cake must’ve been from 2008 cause it was Best I Ever Had. Bathroom was Worthy.

Took us about 3 weeks before we were able to get a reservation, and for good reason. The service is phenomenal, they always make sure you have everything you need. The complementary appetizers are super tasty. The lobster ravioli was definitely the most memorable, despite all the hype around the spicy rigatoni. That’s not the say the rigatoni wasn’t good, it was. It’s just the ravioli had a bit more going for it. Caesar salad was pretty delicious, but nothing you can’t get elsewhere. Top notch experience and a must-try if you’re ever in New York.

Food here was amazing. Canadian oysters were so fresh, seafood scampi had the best scallops I ever tried! Spicy Rigatoni was nice, but a little bit too salty for us. Cheesecake was incredible! Best cheesecake ever!

I have been dying to eat here and was excited to finally get a reservation. Sadly the whole experience was a disappointment and seemed overhyped. Once seated, I was asked if I had any restrictions, I said I was vegetarian, but my partner is not. We got the bread basket and oil in cauliflower, but no salami and cheese. Not mention that we would not get it or anything but every new table that was seated got this, it was the cheese I especially wanted. We asked about the fresh mozzarella in oil and were told it is only during lunch and they would see if they had any in the back. Assumed they did not have it since no one got back to me. I got the Spicy Rigatoni, and my husband got the Chicken Massimo. The food and drinks were good, but no one came by to ask how the food was or if we needed anything else. We wanted to order another Spicy Rigatoni, but once we got our server's attention, we were told they could not add it on. Weird as I have never been told that before. Usually if the kitchen is closed they tell you, but we saw people were still ordering. We got the hazelnut cake, which was not to our taste. It felt rushed, and I expected better, especially from a Michelin Star restaurant.

Appetizers, entrees, dessert and wine are probably $150 pp at a minimum before tip
Well, two weeks ago I saw 3 openings on the Saturday that I went. I ( thought) I booked a reservation but didn't get confirmation, which led me to go down there in person to check if it indeed went through. It didn't. BUT...the hostess said she could have a table ready in a few minutes, and bingo, I was in. My advice simply is keep checking and if you are near there, just go in and see.
Pretty close to impossible for walk in for dinner and extremely low odds the rest of the time.
$100 a head will get you two courses, a shared appetizer and one drink before tip. Plan on $150-$200 a head for a great meal.
Absolutely!
With no drinks and before tax and tip, expect to spend $200 or so.
Book 30 days out. Or show up late and go to bar and make friends inside. Super exclusive clientele. Food is totally worth it
Yes
You need to call the restaurant
Thanks for asking! There is a lunch menu offered on Sundays, the same as weekdays. See the link below. http://carbonenewyork.com/menus/Carbone%20Lunch%20Website%20Fall%202018.pdf
It's a fine dining restaurant with good service which means it's an expensive place to dine. I would suggest going there for lunch which is lighter on your wallet.
The bar is really small. It's really just a service bar. The table service for the restaurant extends into the bar area, but don't confuse that with "bar seating" in the classic Manhattan restaurant sense.
Reservation is a must, as a walk in you will not get a table
