Attended my cousin's retirement party and had a ball. Victoria Turner Brown was certainly loved by all who came in contact with her. The director and co-workers showed up and showed out celebrating 30 years of hard work. Happy Retirement Vickie 🥰

Absolutely hate having to deal with this place! I always thought that when you report something or someone who is doing wrong, especially when it comes to children, that they weren't supposed to call the one being reported ahead of time to let them know what was going on BEFORE the visit was made? Workers who would rather take custody of a child from an abused victim and place it with the abuser? Makes no sense at all!

Employees efficient and courteous.
Courtney Rhyne

Your county department of social services
It depends on the amount of your yearly income.
They might, it just depends on your situation. They probably will help you until your benefits kick in. The approval process is a bit different than it used to be. So I'd just go and apply, the worst they can say is no.
Yes go soon as they open
Call press 0 speak to operator ask to speak to the food stamp supervisor and ask them. If that don't work you will want to go there in person.
I I know that they do it for people that have to have Like Oxygen to breathe or some kind of medical necessity or something like that I know that they have help for that I'm not sure about regular assistance funds. They helped us with hours because of Gene having to have oxygen to sleep at night
It aint thier family they dont care
Yes it is along with several other things. Especially if you are a Veteran or a family member of one.
I took my mom there without any appointment and they were WONDERFUL. Accomplished all sign ups in under 2 hours
It varies based on what program you may be eligible for. Income, assets, children etc and varies from state to state because many but not all programs are partially subsidized by the Federal government! NC is not great for helping the poor, needy and homeless or those without children! I've been in several states ... this is one of the worst! I've been lucky, didn't need much ... always worked
There's nothing like the information a phone call can gather. And free phones are available from the government if you don't have one yet. New changes with free phones even allow for internet use. Not sure how much time is given but you get 500 free minutes of talk, unlimited text, and some internet so you don't have to run to the library to use the computer. By the way, library is currently giving 3 hours of free time per day on their computers per library card holder so the kids can get their own time and not have to use yours. Adult computers are on the 2nd fl and kids are on basement level. Day care help is outside my area. Try the other suggestions.
Insist on leaving a message for your worker's supervisor. Get his/her name and direct line phone number. I'm close to starting a group for people not satisfied with the poor reception and even more for the those who aren't getting enough in benefits! This is a Federal/State funded program. Bring in every bill you can think of that might help you... rent, water, electric, gas, oil, necessary repairs to the home if needed dor someone in the house, especially all UNpaid as well as paid medical bills! Doctor's office co-pays, prescription drugs, medically necessary equipment etc! All the rules and regulations are online for what is allowed or not allowed. If you aren't satisfied the main word when dealing with state or federal programs is "APPEAL, APPEAL, APPEAL!" You'd be surprised what you can get in an appeal that the worker may not have allowed! Be prepared to fight for your benefits!
No they only assist with getting you benefits and electric bills
DSS cannot help you! You need to go to SOCIAL SECURITY! Do NOT put this off. Social Security recommends you go 3 months prior to turning 65.
