DO NOT GO WITH THEM!!! I was really wanting to adopt a perfect little kitten and saw that they were nearby. First things first, the place was unsanitary and smelt like a petting zoo. FIRST RED FLAG. They could at least clean to the best of their ability but no. As soon as you walked in, the smell was absolutely unbearable. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, it could've been an off day for cleaning I suppose. Along with the smell, I saw a dead roach on the floor. Red flag number 2.. A couple hours later, I have adopted the most precious perfect kitten. As I would later find out... she was not so perfect; meaning her health was not so good. They had previously stated that my kitten has been tested and cleared for worms and other kitty diseases, but it turned out to be untrue. A couple weeks later, I saw that she was getting a cold with a bad fever and her stool was looking quite odd. I quickly ran to the vet and they tested her positive for having worms, and feline leukemia. I was HORRIFIED. Giving these people a call back, to my non-surprise... I get NO response. My little girl has been through so much and I am getting the help that she needs to get through her troubles, but this "establishment" needs to be taken down and get a health violation. They are NOT fit to be doing what they are doing. I am very upset that they would lie straight to my face, print false paperwork with false results. I am currently thinking of suing this place for the wrongdoings that they have done.

I’ve adopted two kitties from Darbster, one in 2020 and another one in 2022. They responded to my application quickly and I was able to make an appointment very soon after for the second adoption. I like that I was the only applicant meeting the cats during my appointment time because it felt like there was less pressure to quickly meet all the cats and make a decision. The shelter is clean, the cats seem healthy and the way it’s set up, with multiple small rooms and a couple larger ones, makes it easy to meet the cats, even the shy ones. They have a lot of sweet adult cats and plenty of kittens, so if you’re hesitant about paying a fee to apply, I’d say go for it because I’m sure you will be able to find a cat you like at this shelter.

We have adopted a total of 5 cats from Darbster over the years for ourselves and my in laws. We will continue to go back to darbster. The cats are very well cared for, healthy, and well socialized!! I’ve always gotten a clean bill of health from the vet on all the cats we’ve adopted. Photos are of our two boys Bugsy and Malone who we adopted a couple weeks ago. They are the sweetest kitties and all the staff members I talked to were very knowledgeable about their history and their personalities. Cant recommend Darbster enough!

Great place! Helps a lot of last call cats from down south who would have been euthanized otherwise! Staff is always helpful, and willing to answer any questions! Open hours do get a little busy- but they get new cats weekly, and always have great options! I’ve adopted a couple kitties from here, and they are the best!!

Yes, we do. If you are interested in adopting from us, please apply at Darbsterkitty.com . Thank you!
Only advice is not to wait to hear back from them about being approved. Call them two days later and ask.
They are mainly a cat shelter. I do not believe they have any supplies for sale. Best place to go for those would be Cats Kingdom which is relatively close by.
I did not see newborns but the cat we got was under a year old. Despite what her paperwork said.
Located in Manchester. You would want to call for price
I previously worked at Darbster, you do not have to have an established vet in order to adopt. They only require it if you currently have pets, so they can make sure that your new fur-child is going into a house with animals that are up to date on vaccines and that you've brought them in at least annually for their exams. They just want to make sure that you are a responsible pet owner. Alot of the cats and kittens that come up here from Florida have been through alot.... so they just want to make sure that you are going to do everything you should to insure that they are healthy and happy. Good luck in finding the perfect fit for your first fur-child. 😁😁
If you live in Florida, they always need fosters on that side of the rescue but usually by the time they fly up here to NH most of the kittens are already pre adopted. But from time to time they get kittens that come up and either end up with a kitty cold and need antibiotics for 14 days, or they'll get a kitten who isn't adjusting well to being in a new strange enviorment, not living in a house or with people that are familiar, and those kittens do better going into a foster home where they will just be left alone and if they wanna hide under a bed for 3 days until they feel comfortable coming out, they can, and when they decide they want to get some human affection they can. And every once in a while an older cat will come up that will end up being at the facility for months and months because Everyone wants kittens, so they may use fosters in those situations to leave room for more new kittens to be able to come up. Call them between 10-1am or 5-7pm (their business hours)
I work at Darbster Kitty and Yes we always have kittens ready for their forever homes. But you must fill out an adoption application and get approved first. The application process can take up to 72 hour, but once you are approved you can come and adopt, or keep an eye on our website and pre adopt.
Contact them directly!! They do amazing work and take such good care of them. I live in tbe same town theyre in and visit often.
