This place is great, trails are freshly groomed, many terrain parks, but I have one complaint. Some of the chairlift operators don’t know how to properly slow down and maneuver the chair when letting someone on. It actually seems like they were pushing the chair into my calf’s, and I actually ended up bruised and very soar on my calf’s due to the chairlift operators. All I ask is to properly train the people working on the lifts, or just give them some pointers. Otherwise this is a great place to ski and snowboard, thanks!

I spent a wonderful day snowboarding here and it was incredible! Everyone was so nice, the runs are well laid out and had a great selection from green to black diamond. I loved that there were tree runs and natural features! I didn’t take any on but it was fun watching others do it from the lifts. Hope I get to come back again someday!

Went tubing with the family, and it was a blast. Staff were nice. The hill was just long enough to catch some speed but not scare little ones or bore older ones. The chalet prices were good for what they offered. Bartender did great for being solo and having so many to wait on. Be sure to show up as early as you can, the lines can get long. The gravy spot is before 11.

Tyrol is pretty open to different equiptment, I've seen skateboard decks, ride on scooter type things and several adaptive snowsport items. I'd call them and ask. If it has a leash people aren't usually hassled

It says you can buy a Nordic ticket on the site. I could not find and info. Its the end of feb 2018 and sadly we have no snow on the trails only ice. Where could you go with this pass and would there be snow?

Jeremy Thompson | Feb 28, 2019

Yes they make snow at Tyrol. I am unsure if Tyrol still offers Nordic skiing or not. They usually keep their website pretty up to date so I wouldn't doubt it. I'd recommend that you call and ask.

Bridge on County J is out--Google Maps doesn't tell us this. Coming from Waunakee, WI, what are our best options for directions to Tyrol Basin? Good thing we had a full tank of gas before getting lost.

Sorry to hear you had a hard time getting to us. The county has put out quite a bit of signage due to the bridge on J being under construction. It is almost done now (they're putting the finishing touches on it!) Here is what we would recommend: Waunakee Wisconsin 53597 Follow WI-19 W and Co Hwy P/County Rd P to W Mineral Point Rd in Cross Plains 22 min (16.7 mi) Turn right onto W Mineral Point Rd 5 min (3.6 mi) Turn right onto WI-78 N/WI-78 Trunk N 1 min (1.0 mi) Turn left onto Greenwald Rd 4 min (2.0 mi) Turn right onto Co Hwy J 38 s (367 ft) Turn right onto Forshaug Rd 3 min (1.8 mi) Continue on Co Hwy JJ to Bohn Rd 4 min (2.8 mi) Follow Bohn Rd to your destination 2 min (1.0 mi) Tyrol Basin 3487 Bohn Rd, Mt Horeb, WI 53572
