They seem to never answer their phones and it's at the most a 50/50 chance that they are open if you show up. Really a waste of time and gas. Do not accept a check from these people! My husband went in on Saturday, got a check and it bounced!

I normally have no issues here. The only downfall is when they close earlier than they are supposed to. It would be nice if they added that to the automated voice message when you called so this gold laced gas isn’t wasted!

This is the best scrap yard these guys are awesome,I hate when they're not open because I don't like going nowhere else I'd rather travel from a good ways out to go them rather than going around the corner to the yard by my house

Jeremy, we apologize for any issues. Please come back in and see us in regards to this. When was this incident? Here at American Scrap we want our customers as happy as they can be. We never want you to leave with any problems. Please ask for a manager.

Even though I no longer work there I would be more than happy to inform you that they are going to be closed for Saturday and Monday in observance of Labor Day weekend they will be back on open on Tuesday have a good day
Hi Amos, Yes we are open on Saturday from 9 am to 3 pm. We look forward to doing business with you.
We are doing a major rehaul of the yard to better service you our employees and the community
Yes
Yes, they do. From their website..."Pick-up Service Available for Junk Cars and Large Scrap Loads."
Yes I'm pretty sure it's is
This must be a South Carolina requirement since I have never had to have a permit in Georgia to sell scrap copper, but I am interested in selling now in South Carolina since my go to recycler is not open on Saturdays any more. American Scrap Iron and Metal has good reviews so I will give them a try. I have a lot this time (for me).
Yes they do. The only thing I know required is the VIN must still be on it, and you will need your ID. They are fair, and they are really nice people to do business with.

Aluminum cans have been .45 cents a pound the several years I have been going there. Regular aluminum slightly less, though it varies
.45 a lb. for as long as I have been a customer - around 5 years
