I visited Belton DMV to help a disabled neighbor get a replacement ID card. The staff was very professional and accommodating. My neighbor is almost homebound and hesitant to attempt to make the DMV visit but was very pleased that it went so well. Thank you so much for helping this disabled citizen.

Based on my experience I would say early morning is the least busy time. Monday morning at 9:00 was very quick.
It depends on your age. Under 17 it costs $15. Over 17 it should be free.
Only if you pay online, otherwise you have to take your receipt to dmv
Belton DMV was open for walk-in the other day I think you have to be there before 4pm for written test
I never heard of that
Your expiration date should be on your license.
No walk ins before 1:30 after are appointments
Yes but you can also go online scdmv.gov and schedule an apointment. You will be in the door at your apt time without waiting outside for hours
In Belton be sure to wear your mask when you go through the first door or the guy gets excited. My experience is that they take your cell phone number and let you sit in the parking lot and they call you when it's time to come in. If you have the paper in your hand and mask on your face and before he starts getting excited at the door you tell him I just want to turn in a paper they'll probably let you.
Yes, it is best to go online and schedule a appointment with the branch you want to go to. A lot less time and easier.
Think it has to be title because of loan company may have it . Best to call though
I honestly just go up there. Depending on where in Sc you are there is not much of a line.
it depends where they signed at
Getting any type of tag doesnt take long at all. In and out in less than 10 minutes. As long as you've made an appointment ahead of time. It's a simple 3 step process going through their website. Don't try just going up there and getting put on a waiting list. It's not a good experience.
Make an appointment if you can much quicker, but they will take walkups it is just slower
Some form of ID ss card or birth certificate
Should be an option on the website. Try the right click it sometimes give you options.
One reinstatement fee or three
Are you a SC resident or a newcomer from GA? There are different requirements for each. If SC resident, bring title & pay $15 plus Sales tax (up to $500). To tag vehicle, you need property tax receipt from your SC county & $40 if car, more if truck. There is service fee for using a debit or credit card. Be sure that the title is free of all errors or you will be given an error correction statement to be signed by the seller. If you are a newcomer, you will need the title, property tax receipt from your new SC county, proof of residence and you will pay $15 plus a $250 Infrastructure fee. Please note that SCDMV does not accept lease agreements as proof of residence. Proof of residence can be a utility bill, USPS mail, or property tax receipt. Both first and last name must be on proof of residence.
Every day. Must arrive by 4pm. CDLs must arrive by 3pm.
15 days
No.
First come, first serve in morning. Slots fill up quickly so show up early. Afternoon is by appointment only. You will be graded on a road test, 3-point turn, backing in a straight line and parallel parking. Don't waste the DMV's time by coming unprepared. Practice, practice, practice. Most kids who do not go to driving instructor will usually fail their first or second tries. Be prepared.
You must legally reside in SC to obtain an ID. You will need birth certificate or passport, social security card, proof of ALL names changes since birth. Don't whine that you've been married for 50 years or married 20 times. You MUST show legal proof of all name changes. Proof of residency. 2 proofs if you want Real ID. If you are coming from out of state then you will need to turn in your driver's license or ID.
We can't help you with the wallet but the license can be replaced at any SCDMV. We will verify your identity by your photograph. The cost is $10.
There is no direct line to the Belton DMV. The call center is 803-896-5000
He will need to sign the back of title as seller. You will put your name and address as buyer. Put current mileage on back of title as well. Will have to complete a Form 400 with just your name on it. You will transfer title and plate at same time.
Property taxes must be paid at the tax office. You can mail those in or pay online to the county. They will mail you the sticker. If you decide to pay at the tax office, they may be able to print the sticker unless you owe a registration fee (due every other year). The registration fee can be paid at any SCDMV when you bring your property tax receipt. A sticker will then be issued by SCDMV.
Yes.
Bring title or SC bill of sale (printed on blue paper and available at any SCDMV). Please be aware that temporary tags can not be issued if multiple private parties have signed over the title. Title must be from one seller or issued by a dealership.
