Questions & Answers

Can I bring in a soil sample in a plastic bag to test? I have 5 different samples. What forms should go with the sample and can I access them on-line?

I used this service about a month ago. For covid-19 safety reasons samples are only accepted by mail or by appointment. They do accept samples in a plastic bag. All tests require a sample of at least 2 cups volume. Some special tests require greater volume. this is the website: https://www.clemson.edu/public/regulatory/ag-srvc-lab/soil-testing/index.html See "soil form" listed under "submission forms" at the bottom Also from the site: Clemson Extension continues to serve South Carolina while observing modified county office operations for employees and the public due to COVID-19. County agent and staff are available to assist clients through telephone, email, and virtual platforms and access to lab services (such as soil sampling) can be arranged locally. If you have any questions, please call 803-359-8515.

As of 2012 you are in 8a

What is the rather small hardwood tree with light bright brown leaves.....keeps its leaves longer than the other trees. I read once Mother Nature uses this tree to give the landscape beautiful relief in wooded areas when the other trees are bare!
