They always say cant help when we call for homeless cats Unless we pay for the vetting to sign them as private surrender This is a pet shop The Only ppl welcome to bring cats are connections just to avoid rumors They only return the calls back to help homeless cats if the cat is pure breed, or pregnant/kittens Reneee and Lauren agree to take any pregnant cat feral, or friendly then forget to tell the rest of staff dealing with them/about the animal temper to blame a good samaritan for helping a sentient living being without getting a paycheck from donations like them Evil Becareful with this type of non profit$$ can get you in trouble for trying to help very corrupted state fraud is in the air This is the reason ppl dont stop to help animals anymore and they love it

Wonderful place ! Thanks so much for rescuing Katie ( formerly Mati ) bringing her from Puerto Rico and putting the heart back into our home ! This is our 3rd adoption from you and the 1st place we go to look for a new " furever " friend ! Thank you for all your consistent hard work , loving hearts and all you do to make matches that will last ! This is your 3rd home run for us -- we can't thank you enough ! ( A Word from Katie --- Thank you all for rescuing me - I'll never forget you - oops gotta run time for a walk , then a treat , a quick nap , playing with my new squeaky toy and then it's cuddles and belly rub time ! See ya ! ) Love . Joan . Bill & Katie

They treat the dogs and cats like there family and they work differently then other animal shelters because they will go out of there way to bring dogs in from farther places then Connecticut 😁👍

In addition, if you don't reach them, they have an answering machine on their line. If you need or wish to speak to someone there, don't hesitate leaving them a clearly spoken message with your contact information. The staff has always been great about returning any calls I've left for them right away. Our family has now adopted our second puppy from them, his name is Thor! So ADORABLE 🤗💞🐾
Also, be advised some outdoor cats have quite a wide range and though it may be a small chance, may actually belong to someone, please bring it to be checked for a chip and call your local animal control to check for any reports of missing cats with that description. It is of course a good idea to have the animal spayed/neutered to help control unnecessary populating of unhomed animals. And as mentioned the shelter/animal control/ vet can give you additional advice if needed.
Thanks for asking, you can find more information on our website page "AWS Seniors For Seniors," http://aws-shelter.org/seniors-for-seniors.html (It is listed under the "Support" menu/dropdown.)
While the shelter does promote neutering and spaying, it cannot issue such procedures itself. If you ask, you can definitely get information on local vets that can.
The shelter has a senior cats for senior citizens program where the adoption fee is wavied.
Suggest you call them.
The shelter takes towels but have no use for sheets.
