I am very disappointed about my last purchase of a Sears appliance. I purchaseda Kenmore Elite Grab and Go refridgerator. After about a year and a half the freezer stopped cooling. I took the back off to locate the coils an noticed that the compressor had the LG logo on it. I had purchased the Kenmore instead of the LG because of the reputation LG has that their refridgeratos don't last. I had seen that there was in fact a class action suit regarding LG compressors. I even discussed this with the salesman at Sears. Once I realized that the problem was not dusty coils I called Sears home services. I was told that it would be $95 for soneone to come out and that only certain parts were under warrantee and that all warantees had to go through LG. I told the Sears customer service representative that there was a local appliance repair business close by that was willing to come out and dianose for $45 and if I decided to go with them they would put the $45 toward the repair. I am on a fixed income and could not afford to use Sears home services.The sales rep told me that it would be okay and to have the tech call and order the parts and they would be shipped out. It ended up being both the compressor and the coils. When the tech called Sears parts to find out what was warranted and order the part he was told that they would not honor the warentee because he was not certified to work on LG. Needless to say I have a expensive piece of junk in my kitchen because to get it fixed through Sears home services the repair cost would cost half as much as the refridgerator. I am going to make sure I let everyone know about this that will listen. I probably should have bought the extended warrantee but who would think that a refridgerator would last less than 2 years!!!! I can see why Sears is going through the financial issues they are. I will never buy another Sears product ever. Buyer beware.
