Great place but the bugs are bad during the summer. They will literally chase you!

This place is a MESS!!! It is all overgrown. Even the boardwalk is being enveloped by weeds!! They only mow near the parking lot. There are no trash receptacles. County does NOTHING to trim back the foliage. Bigfoot could be in there and you would never seen him!!! Used to be a nice preserve; but they don’t take care of it anymore!!! SHAME ON ST LUCIE COUNTY!!!

This place wasn’t it for me. Parking was free. I went first thing in the morning. The garbage cans were overflowing which was a sad site to see. The trail to the ocean was straight, minimal sites. The little dock at the end is quite nice. I did see crabs, birds and a snake. I tried to do the interpretive trail but had to stop halfway through- the mosquitos were so bad and the trail was poorly maintained- many downed trees. I wouldn’t return.
