I rarely leave a negative review for a business, I find working out an issue is better all the way around. But after my dealings today with BGCR, I see no other option. On Tues, May 24th I made 2 reservations for carts. One for 8 days and another for 7. We normally rent elsewhere but decided to rent on island this time. I was given 2 prices for the reservations, one was cash (I assume so they can avoid paying taxes) and one was CC (which included taxes). For the 8 day rental, I was told by Lee (I kept detailed handwritten notes) that we could keep the cart til end of day on our final day and that ‘they didn’t normally do that but he was going to make an exception for us’ since we rented 2 carts. I specifically asked and he stated he would make note of the exception. Fast forward to today (return day) when I received a very rude call wondering where the cart was. The conversation became very accusatory and heated and they denied what was verbally promised over the phone. Despite me giving all the specific details off the notes I had, I was mocked and spoken too in a very unacceptable way. Upon returning the cart, Lee (whom originally took the reservation) denied the extension and when I encouraged them in the future to be kind and more respectful of their customers, he blew me off and acted as if it was all my fault. I think their biggest problem (also based on other reviews) is they do not have a computer and solely rely on a paper calendar with scribbled notes and do not seem to keep one promise or reservation straight from day to day. Our carts were old and our reverse lever did not work. We had to come back for it to be replaced on day 3. We will NOT rent from them again. They also just had a big price increase and a lady tried to also challenge me on the pricing I was given over the phone and charge us more at pick up. She was rude to myself and my daughter. So 3 for 3 on employees there. Lesson learned for sure. Maybe they’ll see this and take the $800 we’ve paid them this week and by a computer to keep their business straight and take some courses on customer service. They surely need them!

For the most part folks seem to be complying with mask regulations. Of course there will always be belligerent people unable to read or understand how viruses spread. They probably don't wash their hands either. Otherwise business as usual...
