Lovely park for big and small dogs.

This park is a great place except for two things: 1) No water pump or fountain, and 2) It closes in the winter. Why does it have to close in the winter? Some dogs LOVE playing in the snow, especially huskies, etc. but they find themselves in a state where snow only happens for a few months a year. They would LOVE to play here in the winter! (my animal companions don't have thick coats, but still...) Every other dog park I have been to have fountains or water pumps (well water) and the WATER park (repeat: water. park.) is so close to the dog park, you would think there would be an easy way to get city water to the dog park. The pups are always thirsty and we "owners" can't seem to bring enough H2O! I know this park is relatively new and I applaud the city council for creating it in the first place. I have noticed over the months that new sections have been added for smaller animal companions, which is a good idea. I also think that funding the beautiful dog park, where families, including non-human members of the family, can safely exercise and enjoy the outdoors during COVID, soak up vitamin D, and be a part of the community is a MUCH BETTER WAY TO SPEND OUR TAX DOLLARS than a deer cull - killing deer not because they cause accidents or harm any other life, but because they eat the flower beds of the wealthiest in the city. It is a shame that would even be considered over something like a beneficial community project like this one. Thank you!

My dogs love playing here. However, it does not tell you online that they are closed for winter. Instead there's just a signal that greets you at the gate telling you so. The online hours need to be updated for the people for drive more than just a few minutes to that park.

It's more of a making sure that all the reseeding doesn't get ruined in the first weeks. I was just there today for its opening day. It's beautiful but I understand the reason for taking extra precautions, they don't want to have to redo this again. The weather this spring was terrible and wet and it took longer than expected to dry it out again
Closed until further notice, posted june 3rd
No. Now it says "To Be Determined" on one of the entrances.
No, it opens in April.
Usually open year round, last year was an exception.
According to the City website it is scheduled to reopen April 8th. I imagine that will depend on the amount of rain, etc between now and then.
We enjoyed our visit and thought it was a good park.
