Highly recommend. The staff is great and worked with us to meet our needs and get our kitten to us. They deserve better funding and a new building, they are always busy and crowded with many dogs and cats they rescue. Please consider adopting and donating!

Incredibly nice people. The dogs and cats are beautiful and very well cared for

I can only speak from my own personal experience with this shelter. I adopted my very best friend Oliver from Sonsini 3 years ago and I am SO happy with my choice! I wanted to support a no kill shelter and I wanted to adopt a dog that had been in the shelter the longest. Oliver had been at Sonsini for a year! A year is a very long time when you are a dog. The shelter was clean, the kennels were clean, the staff was friendly, and the home check was thorough. I plan on adopting from Sonsini again when Oliver (god forbid) passes on. There is no other love like the unconditional love you receive from a dog. Oliver has his own Facebook page (Oliverthepitbull) I have read other people's experiences and some were good some were very bad...my personal experience was awesome 👌 it's heartbreaking to see all the beautiful dogs locked in cages with nobody but the staff to love them 😢 ADOPT DON'T SHOP!!! ALL dog breeding should be outlawed until every shelter is empty! I don't mean to imply that they should go out of business but this is a human problem not a dog problem and dogs are the ones who suffer. God bless the 🐕 🐶 🐕 Thank you Sonsini for allowing me to be the best dog dad I can be for Oliver!

Went there for some advice for a neighborhood homeless cat.

$250.00 for a kitten is ridiculous
Call the shelter and set up a time to drop it off
We apologize, but Sonsini does not have ferrets.... we have cats/kittens and dogs/puppies only.
No, we have a shepherd mix named Joi.
They don't sell the dogs they adopt them out to qualified homes. There is a process to adoption.
What time can i go there i found a stray puppy and cant have dogs where i live
I'm not sure on the hours . They may have a process to adopt a shelter dog .. Last shelter dog i adopted in Ct. I had to fill out an application and it was verified landlord employer and a house visit with the dog to make sure we were ready . All well worth it for everyone's sake . If they do this , don't get discouraged your not only adopting a pet . But a new member of the family ....
