The staff is always courteous, but it's disappointing that too often having purchased Publix ground beef turn dark grey the day after purchase, even with the sell by date not being expired. A waste of money. I often see brown prepackaged deli meats still hanging for sale (salamis etc)... The produce isn't top quality for the prices either.. Harris Teeter has fresher meats and produce and I'll keep driving farther for their items than getting dupped by Publix down the road.

I shop here almost daily for instacart. They often make the bags heavy and the rip during deliveries or they may bag things such as bread and chips with other bulky items. I often grab a bag or two on the way out to re-bag items. Instacart customers rate us on how orders are bagged as well. Today I was stopped by I believe a manager and asked why I grabbed two additional grocery bags. I told him I was going to separate the bread into its own separate bag and lighten another bag that was heavy. I even told him that I've literally chased cans down a customers driveway before when I've had bags rip on deliveries. He said "I've never heard that before" and informed me that publix has to "monitor their bags". The whole interaction was just awkward. I will avoid orders from this location if possible.

The sub sandwich station was nasty. The soups looked like yesterdays mush. Every one was really helpful and nice. Lots of smiles. What really bothered me was a manager behide the sub station.

Others have already mentioned it, but the folks that work here truly do care about you having a good experience. Whether they are fetching carts, restocking shelves, or bagging, the employees smile and talk to you like they have known you for years. Even the younger members that are still in school were genuinely interesting in how I was doing and would look me in the eyes as we were talking. A standout moment for me was David, a butcher at this location. I came in, wanting a specific cut that I knew was not what was normally offered at a grocery store. Talking with him, he had not heard of it but said "if it comes from a cow, I can figure it out. I am going to watch some YouTube videos tonight, so if you can come back tomorrow, I will be ready." I could see his curiosity get sparked and he was energized as his mind started racing. The next day, I came back and though he was quite busy, he remembered me and got to work on my cut. I watched as other customers walked up, asking for him to do smaller cuts or repacking things together. Without a beat, he agreed with a smile. David truly loved helping the customers. A few days later, I was restocking before my trip home and he caught my attention as I walked by. He asked me how the cut went, and I told him how it was a great hit with the friends I made dinner for. I cannot remember the last time I had this type of experience at a large chain style store. Please, even if it is out of your way, make sure to do you grocery shopping here.
