The guard at the door is very nice, only wish the ppl at the desk would get to ppl a little faster when It's something so fast an simple that many ppl are there for.

Walked in around noon, guard was super nice and helpful! Only had to wait a few minutes and was helped by a very nice and capable gentleman. I still can’t believe what a great experience it was!

At least for now, you have to have what SSA considers to be an important need for one, but I don't know what qualifies. You'll have to call somebody to see if they'll let you make an appointment, I think.

Yes I believe so. And at some point you (we all will) have to have the Federal government ID. It was supposed to start Jan 2022 but Covid sat the start date back. I've not heard when it will be the Rule.

NO !! You can call or write the town hall of city you were born in. Or The capital city of the State you were born because capitals of each State hold those records of the whole state. For Example: if you were born in Ct. You would contact Hartford. The City hall or The Hall of records.
