Great programs for everyone! Creative programs, to book meetings, library movie nights, history walks, and so much more if you just happen to take a look inside the library door! The history programs are very informative and interesting. I highly recommend signing up for them as Jim is a very informative historian!

Very decent library. Not as large or well stocked as Suffern or Spring Valley, but certainly a nice selection. Librarians were nice, which is not a given around here. Children’s books could have been better organized. All in all a worthy member of the RCLS.

Lovely little place. I mainly go for the graphic novels; They have a small but decent selection of YA fiction, graphic novels and even Manga, and a good collection of adult fiction. Having a library membership allows access to Hoopla which is an Ebook borrowing service, and it's got a fantastic selection of books there as well. They also have a lot of programs for all ages, which is wonderful. I haven't attended any because the time slots often don't work for me, so I can't attest to the quality, but it's nice to know that these activities and resources are offered. My one complaint/gripe would be that things are difficult to find in the non fiction/reference section, which is small and somewhat outdated. You can access a lot more online, but sometimes it's nice to have a physical book to read and take notes from. Overall I love being a member and I'm very grateful to have a resource like this in the community.

Hi John, Thank you for your recommendation. Previously we looked into becoming a member of the Met and Cloisters. Unfortunately, the Met does not offer Library/institution membership passes. Each Membership card must be issued to a person and not an institution. We do however offer a variety of museum passes, located on our website https://pearlriverlibrary.org/borrow-a-museum-pass/. These include the Guggenheim Museum (4 adults ages 12 and up, and kids are free), the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum (4 adults ages 12 and up, and kids are free) and the Museum of the City of New York (2 adults and 4 children) to name a few. Please stop by our Check Out desk to check out a museum pass. You may call us (845-735-4084) for pass availability, as well. Hopefully this was helpful, and we look forward to seeing you soon!
You can check out our events calendar at https://pearlriverlibrary.libcal.com/calendar?cid=13767&t=m&d=0000-00-00&cal=13767&inc=0. It lists all of our events and activities, along with their start and end time. I hope this helps!
Hi Sheila, Our heating system broke down late Monday afternoon, so we had to close on Tuesday while it was being repaired. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may have caused. The repairs are finished the library is open today.
Hi Maggie, Due to the effects of the pandemic, AARP won't be able to offer their annual Tax Aide service in person this year. Instead, they be offering it virtually through a link on the AARP website or over the phone only. As of now, AARP does not have a specific start date or a link to this service. We will be keeping our patrons updated on our website and on our social media accounts.
If you login with your library card number, it should be the last 4 digits of the phone number that you put on your library card application.
