The Dog Shack

To Paul taft.why would you mess with an age old recipe that is the foundation of dog shack success? I was a friend of Louis,founder of the shack, and miss him and the dogs now that I am far away, just the way they were. To add burger would change the taste. Why would you mess with perfection? I hope the current owners don't take your suggestion seriously. Every time something good comes along someone has to "improve"it. Yoohoo almost vanished this way. Tasty fries aren't the same any more. I could go on and on. leave it alone and be grateful the original is still around. They used to be 3 for a buck though. I don't know how Louis did it. How many would have gone hungry if it weren't for him. He did it all without your comment about his recipe.

Believe it was early 70's when Louis became my neighbor and opened up the shack. One store was by the hospital. Then came the one jus t north of Crandall park and the one in Hudson falls. So it would be close to 50 years. Louis truely acted like an uncle to me, always putting something extra in my bag. I miss the shack and Louis. Hate when ignorants make negative comments and they nothing of the man who fed half the town and grew a legend.
