Place is not friendly to POC. I felt very uncomfortable here. I’ve seen the other reviews but I chose to come here anyways. Please stay far away, these animals deserve better.

Volunteers at the front desk are inappropraiate. It was a young female and a young male. The female was talking about breast (she used the word t*ts) inappropriateley which de-railed me from even wanting to get a cat here as I was filling out the application. My fiance was filling out the application and he didn't put how many people were in the household and he didn't know how many there were of us on the top of his head and she interjected "you don't know?" obnoxiusly. I was in disbelief how the volunteers are here. I saw other reviews and the response from this adoption center is appauling. They gaslight the families that want to come here to adopt. We left within 10-15 minutes of our visit here. I'd recommend to go to Golden Paw Society or elsewhere. There are much friendlier volunteers for the cats there. I would also like to add on that the volunteer that took our application let it get wet in the rain as we were walking to see the cats. Updated: The shelter replied back to my comment and I’m absolutely shocked in the gaslighting in their reply. I’m not dumb, I know what shelter I’m reviewing and it is indeed Little Shelter. Instead of defending yourselves maybe you can apologize for the lack of respect at this shelter. I do not believe that this place is POC friendly with the way they treated us and maybe you’re right I think the animals in this shelter deserve better, these poor animals have volunteers who DO NOT want people to adopt.

Wonderful organization that truly cares for the animals in its care. Great, helpful staff and volunteers.

We had an excellent experience adopting Brownie this past weekend. The staff was exceptional. Everyone was professional and informative. We couldn’t be happier. The process was seamless!

They do take owner surrenders but you'd have to call & ask if they have room..
There is a $25 non-refundable application fee. If you're approved then it's $100 when you pick up the pet. I adopted a second dog within 5 months & they waived the second application fee. I considered it a donation because they do a wonderful job of helping pets in need.
Cost money
I can't answer that question, but you could call there and ask... Can't hurt!!!
Not currently, but we do see them from time to time. Please check our website or call us at 631-368-8770 x21. Thanks for asking.
I am sorry but we only rescue dogs and cats, not guinea pigs.
I don't think so, call them and ask...
Little Shelter is an AMAZING organization. Call ahead as I believe appointments are required at this time for visitors & those looking to adopt?
Yes. They except just about anything related
I believe they take blankets
Checking our website is the best way to see our available dogs. They are put on our website as soon as they become available
Little shelter will help you find him a good home.
You might have to do it through their Facebook page.
TNR - Trap, Neuter and Release. Little Shelter can neuter for a fee, but you can ask around for the best price.
As I far as I've seen, they don't have any Huskies at this time
Little Shelter has an entire area of small dogs that are in need of a loving home. You should definitely visit them and ask to see the small dog room.
I volunteer at little shelter. I work with the cats. You can call them on Monday .they are open 1-7pm M-F I know they have lots of medium to small dogs ., I'm not. Sure what a yorkie poo is. Best to ask dog department. Good luck!
Yes!
16 and older
it's not a store
Don't know. Go to their website. They post photos & some information about dogs ready for adoption. But the website doesn't always have all their dogs for adoption posted, so better to visit & no appointment is necessary.
I don't personally, but Little Shelter does. My one dog was an owner surrender.
