A small state park on the opposite side of river facing starved rock. There are three main hiking trails. The river buff trail is the one with most scenic view. They also have three American bison/buffaloes in captivity. There are plenty of picnic spots with tables and shade. The trials can be completed within 3 to 4 hours.

A no difficulty trail that suitable for everyone. Not a single stair in the trail. Wheelchair friendly. Easily to enjoy the view of the lake throughout half of the trail.

Very nice view of the Illinois River. You can see the buffalos in an enclosed area right at the entrance of the park. The toilets are not good- no sink, no water, often not clean.

No waterfalls. Go to either starved rock or mathieson state parks to see waterfalls.
Yes, you can avoid stairs entirely to get to the trails. The trails also run on a pretty even terrain
I did not even know about this. How cool. Information about the park is available through the park's interpretive office, at (815) 433-2224. Hopefully they can assist you.
You find the signs along the way as like as the sculptures.
And get there earlier that you plan to clear out anyone who may be there.
I believe there is one nearby, but not associated with the park itself
