My experience at sound bar was very average. As we approached the door the bouncer aggressively shouted “$30 cash for cover. If you don’t have cash, don’t even get in line”. With that initial encounter I was turned off to even enter the facility. I am aware that this is a cool spot in downtown Chicago so I was disappointed with my experience. I hope that other guest have a better experience than I did.

Be careful buying drinks here. Sound Bar charges "premium" for well drinks when they cash you out. They won't give you a receipt and charge way too much for what they are giving you. I never receive premium liquor but was charged for it 3 different times, and they wouldn't let me talk to anyone about it or ask about it. They don't give you anything to tip because they include it in your total.

Door staff is extremely unhelpful. No respect from any other people attending - constantly getting ran into and pushed around no matter where you’re standing. Sound from the two different floors heavily overlap and make it difficult to enjoy the floor you’re on. Water is crazy expensive, and weak drinks where you’re still paying $20+. Horrible overall vibe, will not be back.

Avoid this place at all costs. We were in the crowd for hours just dancing and enjoying ourselves, when three girls (who did not look 21 btw) shoved past us and spilled their drinks all over us. For some reason, they thought that was funny, and were pointing and laughing and mocking us. We didn’t wanna deal with them so we just kept trying to separate ourselves. They kept following us through the crowd and shoving into us while dancing. Eventually we told them to leave us alone and back tf up. They didn’t like that very much, so they started throwing drinks on us, getting physical, and then yelling saying we were assaulting them. Even the people around us were telling them to chill out, and random dudes were pushing them away. One girl just kept yelling how they knew the owners, and would have us kicked out. She said she was calling her dad and walked off. Sure enough, a few minutes later like 6 security guards came to kick us out. Despite us and everyone who witnessed it trying to tell them we were the ones being harassed, they didn’t care and basically threw us out. This was after spending $74 on four drinks. This place is a joke.

I think every Friday and Saturday nights..you can RSVP For free entry .. But you have to go in before 11 PM You can check for more details on website
No
I'm every woman has people believing the gals can vet away with ANYTHING😏.
Usually $20 unless you can get on the guest list through signing up via their website or before a certain time either 10pm or 11 i can't remember
If they look trendy and clean, I think you could. If they look dirty and beat up, you might have trouble.
Of course, you can 20 years old. You just can't enter the bar when you're 20....
Depends on the night.. typically there's house music on at least one decks but I'd recommend checking their website first.. some of the Fridays this year when they've had DnB, it's been only DnB upstairs
Prices vary due to whos the DJ is for that night usually about $20 and if you know people you might just get in for free.
Depends on the night. Usually more poppy electro.. but sometimes chicago house or drum and bass.
They have stairs. You can go up and down using the same stairs.
Usually $20 after 11:30, unless popular DJ is playing then it can be more.
Usually $20, sometimes more if mainstream DJ is playing.
Most likely no
Typically $10-20 unless it is a ticketed event.
Hard copy only.
usually yes
Soundbar is 21 and up. Hence the name of the place has the word Bar in it. All of the clubs in that entire area of the city, are all 21 and up places.
Yeah you can
You got to be 21, if you're under you cant get in and if you're over you still can't get in
21 years old
Jazz
Yea but girls always get in. *Wink wink*
21 its free but if you have a certain look, the security will charge you 20.
Sometimes
Pay at the door unless you established VIP prior to arrival.
Search for promoter info. They will get ladies free or reduced

There are tons to choose from depending on your budget
go on google for that. not Google maps. come on now
It open Thursday thru Saturday
Yes they are open most wednesdays. Just not the whole club is operating. They usually don't close till 2:30 to 3am. Otherwise they have a 4 am liquor license.
Sign up for their newsletter someone they bring in good DJs and free entrances or drinks
20 bucks
Hello, good morning 😂😍👏 About 20 meters
21 and over
I'm 27 but a few of my friends are 20 so were trying to find a place to celebrate new years eve a 18+ place any suggestions
Get on the guest list.
as long as you have either a driver's license state ID or passport that is not expired and shows that you are actually 21 upon entry you should be able to get in
they have three different rooms with different music. Usually it will be EDM upstairs and hip hop downstairs but it also depends on the DJ that week
if you RSVP on their website and get there before 11 it's usually no cover for you and a guest
Where ever you can find, off-street parking or there are a few parking lots near there
Running shoes
Try Fireside Bowl, on Fullerton.
No.
Yes what I can remember is techno on the first floor R&B stuff in the basement and then other techno rooms
Yes
There is no age limit, however they have a minimum age of 21.
If you're hip and walk past the bouncers the they'll let you skip the line!
VIP has tables and seating. The red bar section in the back has a wrap around bench.
There are some areas where you could grab seats and you do have options to make table reservations.
Change your definition of fun and turn 21. You aren't missing anything. Jay z said it best...what's better than throwing up money in a club? Good credit.
Yes
Hip hop rap edm deep house techno trance depends on DJ lineup and artists performing. Downstairs mainly hip hop rap upstairs everything else.
Not sure about the bag situation but usually they dont allow gym shoes. Should be well dressed.
Main floor is usually electronic, and main act. Basement is usually rap, hip hop.
Check website for more details
A definite no! This place is very strict about dress code. You may get off with dress jeans but shoes cannot be gym shoes.
Damn near all clubs do honey.
Saturday night usually pretty long line Friday not so bad the later you get there the longer the line the earlier the better between 9 and 11 pm best time ladies usually free to get in guys 20 bucks last I remember
Little expensive, you get hard drinks in the range of 12-15
R&B Trap n Rap downstairs and upstairs Club Music. There are 3 different rooms of music
There are a few rooms, from electronic on the main floor to Latin and rap in the lower floor and other rooms
The alley north of Ontario on Franklin on the east side of the street.
Yea, dead.
That is ok, I've seen plenty of people dressed like that.
Depends on the night... They enforce the dress code (no hats, collared shirts with no print, closed toe shoes, etc) on the more clubby nights but relax it for the non-clubby nights (like on DnB nights you can get in with a hat and hoodie). Also, if you prepurchase a ticket, you'll be more likely to get in even if you don't meet the dress code when they're enforcing it (and you can skip to the front on the line)
Most events I have attended are 21+
Ryan, don't go here. Stay home and read some books.
